Half of ProTour teams want meeting with grand tours
Saint Louis Post-Dispatch
Not sure whether this is a good thing or bad, half of the ProTour teams calling for a meeting with the three grand tours in the wake of the exclusion of four teams, including powerhouse Astana and High Road Sports, from the Giro d’Italia.
It could be good that the ProTour teams want to take action and open a dialogue, but it might be bad with only nine of the 18 teams involved. That could indicate a split among ProTour teams, which could portend to the crumbling of the UCI ProTour.
Only speculation, but considering the bickering in the cycling world, it’s plausible as they say on Mythbusters.
