We’ve told you about the crucifixion team kits they’re wearing and the training rides they’re doing, and now we’ve gotten an interesting little nugget about the Rock Racing Three — the cyclists barred from the Tour of California for being implicated in the re-opened Operacion Puerto investigation.
Tyler Hamilton, Oscar Sevilla and Santiago Botero will do their training ride Tuesday at race pace, using the very roads from Santa Rosa to Sacramento that will be used later in the day in Stage 2 of the ToC.
At least that’s what we’re hearing a half-continent away from the festivities.
The trio would leave far enough in advance of the stage start so as not to interfere with the actual race. If traffic cooperates, they’ll see if they can beat the time of the winner in the 115.8 mile stage.
