Support for Levi Leipheimer keeps rolling in
Dave Luecking
Saint Louis Post-Dispatch

The letleviride petition has topped 17,000.

U.S. national road cycling champ Levi Leipheimer of the Astana Cyling team is drawing about 5,000 responses per day in his quest to pressure the Amaury Sports Organization to reverse its decision to ban Astana from the Tour de France.

Astanta, which has instituted strict anti-doping controls under former Discovery boss Johan Bruyneel, is the only UCI Pro Tour banned to this point. ASO issued an un-vitation to Astana, ostensibly because of the team’s doping past — even though those responsible for that are no longer employed by the team.

Still waiting for “traditional” media to pick up this story.
