Astana’s Contador wins Vuelta a Castilla y León

Defending Tour de France winner Alberto Contador of Astana wrapped up the general classification of the Vuelta a Castilla y León, which he led from start to finish.
Contador finished 39 seconds ahead of Barloworld’s Mauricio Soler and 46 ahead of Rabobank’s Thomas Dekker. Astana teammate Levi Leipheimer was fourth, 1:09 in arrears, while Denis Menchov of Rabobank was fifth, 1:23 back.
Slipstream-Chipotle finished third in the team standings (behind Rabobank and Karpin Galicia), and was led by Chicagoan Christian Vande Velde, who tied for ninth overall.
