Landis hearing ends; CAS will rule in June

So sez, the Associated Press. … Ol’ 10 Speed will jibber jabber about Landis in a day, or three/four. I’ve gotta let this whole thing percolate for a while.

Here’s the AP story …

Cyclist Landis’ doping hearing before Court of Arbitration for Sport ends; decision in June

NEW YORK (AP) — Floyd Landis’ hearing in front of the Court of Arbitration for Sport ended Monday after 35 hours of testimony spanning five days that included 14 witnesses and written testimony from 10 others.

Post-hearing submissions are due from both parties April 18. A CAS news release said a decision on the “voluminous” case is not expected before June.

The CAS hearing is Landis’ last chance to have his 2006 Tour de France title restored. It was stripped last September after an arbitration panel ruled Landis used performance-enhancing substances during his victory.

That arbitration hearing was open to the public, but the CAS hearing was held in private at law offices in New York.

The arbitrators who heard the case for CAS were attorneys Jan Paulsson of Paris, David Williams of New Zealand and David Rivkin of New York.

CAS said it would have no comment on the case. Landis’ attorney, Maurice Suh, said he would not have any comment on the hearing until after the decision was released.
