News flash: Athlete beats doping rap
Saint Louis Post-Dispatch
It happened in Italy, where Danilo Di Luca, the winner of the Giro d’Italia last year, was cleared by the Italian Olympic Committee.
Irregularities in an anti-doping sample from the Giro prompted the case, but further tests showed there wasn’t enough evidence to move forward, according to Velonews.com.
But before you go celebrating a rare victory for an athlete, be aware that WADA and the UCI have the right to appeal to CAS.
