After Party!
I didn’t attend any of the black-tie, tuxedo-mandated inaugural balls last night.
Instead, I visited a couple of locations in the Silver Spring area last night and this morning before preparing for my trip home:
Bob Campbell, owns the Silver Spring Caribbean-Style Restaurant. Bob, who was born in Ghana, shared his optimism about the nation’s 44th President after serving me a plate of his delicious jerk chicken:
I shot these videos late last night inside the Bokum Cafe, an African/Raggae/International club in Silver Spring.
On the way out I met Mike, who maintains that Obama is a “gift to the whole world.”
I also talked with Harry, a retired physician’s assistant and Silver Spring resident at Mayorga Coffee House:




Sylvester Brown, Jr. often refers to himself as the "accidental columnist." He enrolled in college almost 25 years ago to pursue a career as a cartoonist. He ended up starting an award-winning newspaper and falling in love with journalism. Today, as a writer for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the "accidental columnist's" love affair continues.
