Airport police uncover theft ring
Police at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport have uncovered a theft ring involving baggage handlers who believed to have been stealing from Delta Airlines passengers, the airport announced today. Eight have been arrested in the investigation, according to the airport. Six of those suspects worked for Huntleigh USA, a company that provides baggage handling services for Delta at Lambert. The two other suspects did not work at the airport. Police have not released their names.
During their investigation, police found about 900 stolen items, ranging from laptop computers to cigarettes, and are trying to find the owners. Airport police are encouraging Delta passengers who believe they had items stolen while flying through St. Louis in the last 12 to 15 months to call a police hotline: 314-890-1822.

Is there any attempt whatsoever by these security companies to screen candidates?
I bet they uncovered a theft ring. It probably cropped up as competition to the sanctioned one, and we just can’t be having that sort of thing, now can we?
