Weathering the storm
Flooding caused by heavy rainfall has closed short stretches of highway throughout Missouri today - and motorists are encouraged to check MoDOT’s computerized road condition map at www.modot.org for the latest conditions.
The interactive map shows all the state highways that are closed for flooding. As of 1:10 p.m. today, the 167 highway closures were outside the St. Louis are, said MoDOT spokeswoman Sally Oxenhandler. No major interstates were closed either.
Internet users can use the map to zoom in on details for specific problem areas. There’s also a text-only version that provides information by route and by county.
