McCutcheon Road bridge reopens

The McCutcheon Road overpass on Highway 40 is open again.
Friday’s opening should relieve some of the traffic congestion on Brentwood Boulevard, said Dan Galvin of Gateway Constructors. That’s because many displaced motorists used Brentwood. The old Art Deco span was among the oldest on the 10-mile stretch of Highway 40 (Interstate 64) that’s being rebuilt.
Crews just finished the sidewalk and gutters of the new McCutcheon bridge. It is opening without a center stripe, Galvin said, but crews will finish that detail when the weather warms up.
