Grand opening at the new train station

The multi-colored Gateway Transportation Center is now buzzing with bus and train passengers. A grand opening will be held at 10:45 a.m. Friday at the station, just south of the Scottrade Center on South 15th Street. There will be drawings for travel vouchers on Amtrak and Greyhound. And, a train and a bus will be on display for toures from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Parking will be free Saturday at the center’s lot under the elevated section of Highway 40, and at the surface lot south of Scottrade, according to the Comptroller’s Office. Free parking Amtrak began using the center today. Greyhound began using it last summer.
