The Missouri Legislature today approved a bill that will expedite work on a new Mississippi River bridge between St. Louis and the Metro East. The bill allows for the transfer of state-owned land to the Missouri Department of Transportation. Ironically, such transfers between state agencies can take much longer than a transfer between a private individual and government. The unused piece of land belonged to the Hall Street Correctional Facility. A bridge approach will be built on the property.

Missouri Rep. James Morris, D-St. Louis, sponsored the bill in the House. in the Senate, the sponsor was Sen. Robin Wright Jones, D-St. Louis.

is this what prompted the no-media-allowed, ultra-secret meeting about N. St. Louis development last night?
