Water main break on Memorial Drive

Memorial Drive is closed at Washington Avenue in downtown St. Louis after a driver this afternoon struck a fire hydrant and ruptured a water main. Traffic is being detoured to Pine Street to 4th Street and back to Washington. The entrance to westbound I-70 north of Pine is open. City crews will work through the night to repair the main and reopen Memorial Drive before the Wednesday afternoon rush hour.
