MoDOT enters blogosphere
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Another transportation blog has begun to let us vent more about highways, traffic signals and illogical intersections. The Missouri Department of Transportation has started a blog for St. Louis transportation issues. You can find it at http://modot-stl.blogspot.com. There should be updates every week. According to a press release, here are the ground rules:
“MoDOT will approve comments on the blog before they are posted. Comments will not be edited, but comments that are vulgar, offensive, harassing, or threatening will not be approved. The blog will be updated regularly, usually at least once a week, and will offer users the opportunity to ask questions about MoDOT practices or policies.”

You’ve got to appreciate on the comments section of MODOT’s blog how they blithely answer the question about scooter, bicyclist, pedestrian crossings of the Meramec. They acknowledge cyclists used to use the shoulder, smile and say they took the access away and nope, no money to fix that. I thought the federal highway administration and east west gateway required access to all modes of transportation.
