A story in today’s Post-Dispatch cites a survey that indicates people are turning to transit because it’s cheaper than the cost of gasoline and parking. Metro has a feature on its website that allows you to plug in your commuting distance and your fuel efficiency. It then calculates your monthly and annual commuting costs. Mine seemed a bit inflated, but the calculator also factors in insurance costs, on top of wear and tear and gasoline.
