Rush to the Rams: What if?

MEQUON, Wis. (Camp Day 5/late report)

So, talk-show host Rush Limbaugh is interested in buying the Rams. If he persuades Chip Rosenbloom to sell (extremely unlikely), should we expect that:

*Al Saunders would not be permitted to make liberal use of his playbook?

*Steven Jackson would be ordered to run right only?

*The team would get a volume discount on painkillers?

*Dick Cheney would be put in charge of the shotgun formation?

*St. Louis fans never would have to worry about the team moving back to the Left Coast?

*The Melonheads of old would resurface as Dittoheads.

*Jim Haslett would get an unlimited budget to beef up the defense? (But he’d have to report to Donald Rumsfeld.)

*Marques Hagans would never, ever line up at quarterback again?

*The Rams’ most loyal fans would be known as Neocon Nation.

*The Edward Jones Dome would be renamed “Conservative Coliseum”? (Unless Al Franken purchased the naming rights, in which case it might be the “Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot Arena.”

Just wonderin’ . . .

The Steven Jackson Watch:

*Days out: 5

*Practices missed: 7

*Fine total: $75,000

Notes & quotes:

>>Newly signed DT Henry Smith was given No. 54, which normally would go to a linebacker (it’s Brandon Chillar’s old number). But because of injuries, the Rams didn’t have any jerseys left with the usual defensive lineman numbers.

>>New K Josh Brown nailed a 61-yard field goal during special-teams drills, and the wind wasn’t helping him.

>>T Orlando Pace is increasing contact incrementally. He still hasn’t taken part in the rugged one-on-one matches.

>>DT Adam Carriker, limited early in camp, appears to be full-go now.

>>It seems as if second-year WR Derek Stanley produces a head-turning catch every day. He made a leaping, twisting grab in the end zone Tuesday on the last play of practice.

>>Rookie DTs Vernon Bryant and Willie Williams have impressed with their raw strength.

>>Just visiting: John Clayton of ESPN.

>>Be sure to click here to see Chris Lee’s camp photos.

All for now . . . more Wednesday from two-a-days.

BEEN A RAM FAN SINCE 1967. IF RUSH BECOMES OWNER WILL HAVE TO THINK ABOUT FINDING A NEW TEAM. AT LEAST WHILE HE’S THE OWNER. CANT STAND THE MAN.

Rush is a Missouri native. If him buying the team would keep them in the STL, then I would be all for it.

I have long been a fan of St. Louis football, from the time the Chicago Cardinals became the St. Louis Cardinals and have never seen a reason to be otherwise. Should Limbaugh purchase the team, the time will have come.

Russ Limbaugh is an opinion and in my opinion a very low class human being. He uses a radio show to promote half truths and out right lies to support a political agenda that belittles and questions the patrotism and rights as an American for all those that disagree with any (or all) of his blather. Hyprocritcal as a human after degrading those with drug problems it was found he, himself had a drug problem and was spending thousands in many devious ways to procure and hide his buys. This man is everything that is wrong with todays politics and everything that is wrong with the KMOX’s of the world that continues to promote a message used only to provide political misinformation and lies.

I’ll not provide for the income or glory of any human floatsam such as Limbaugh even as a football fan. He has the right to ownership and I have the right to tell him to put it where the sun doesn’t shine.

Hey Ken. He is no different than all the BS news anchors on TV every night. Not trying tomake this political as we are talking sports, but did you notice that major news agencies went with Obama to the middle East? Did you here about McCain’s last 3 trips over there?

It’s not just Rush who at times is Lupey Sanchez about his views. It’s all of the news agencies.

If this is what it takes to keep football is STL which inturn gives the city additional jobs, revenues and tax dollars than so be it.

Rush as an NFL Owner would never fly. With his criminal record, he would never be confirmed by the other owners. Plus, I think it would be a huge distraction off-field.

Doug Nurge — If you’re too stupid to differntiate between political views and sports, then the Rams and Rush don’t need you. Maybe George Soros will buy a team, and you can root for them. Now that guy is one evil human.

I would not have a problem with Rush so long as he keeps the Rams in St. Louis.
