Adeyanju tackles comeback from surgery
MEQUON, Wis. (Camp Day 18/late report)
Defensive lineman Victor Adeyanju returned to practice Monday, two weeks after having surgery to repair a broken middle finger, and was a tackling demon in 11-on-11 drills. Adeyanju’s right hand was encased in a padded cast approximately the size of a ping-pong paddle. It was a bit intimidating, to say the least.
“I’m not going to make him mad. That thing would knock you out pretty easily,” coach Scott Linehan quipped.

Notes & quotes:
>>C Nick Leckey, who has been one of training camp’s most pleasant surprises, filled in for Brett Romberg with the first team. Romberg’s bruised hand is still sore, which makes snapping the ball difficult.
>>Quick quiz: Name the “D.V.” that wasn’t at Rams practice Monday: a) Darius Vinnett, b) David Vobora, c) Dick Vermeil, or d) Dick Vitale. (answer below)
>> Ron Bartell, who has been working mostly at cornerback since Fakhir Brown (shoulder) was hurt on the first day of camp, saw some action at safety, where Oshiomogho Atogwe (hamstring) and Jerome Carter (groin) are out.
>>With Brandon Gorin (shoulder) sidelined, rookie John Greco, a third-round draftee, lined up at tackle Monday. Previously, he’d been used almost exclusively at guard.
>>WR Marques Hagans made a nice leaping grab in the end zone on a 30-yard pass from QB Bruce Gradkowski during team drills.
Answer to quick quiz: d)
All for now . . . two more reports Tuesday.

Any updates on Steven Jackson? Not much news was reported on him in last week or so. Regular season is fast approaching and would be good to see him report to camp and get the negotiations back on track.
