Never has a season gone by in his nine-year NFL career that Dante Hall has not experienced a Governor’s Cup game — seven with the Chiefs and now two with the Rams. So, if anyone understands the compelling nature of the annual matchup, it’s Hall.

Right, Dante?

“It means nothing.”

Uh . . . you’ve played on both teams. Doesn’t the game make a difference to you?

“Not at all.”

Well . . . any memories of previous Governor’s Cup games?

“I have no memories.”

So . . . nothing that comes back to you?

“Not at all.”

Scott Linehan has a different view of the GC tilt. He said it qualifies as a legitimate rivalry.

“Of course . . . cross-state rivals,” Linehan said. “It’s important. . . . I think both teams probably follow each other a little bit because we’re so close to each other.”

Preseason or not, you know Linehan is aching to take a three-game winning streak into the opener next week in Philly.

All for now . . . more after Thursday night ’s game from Arrowhead Stadium.

I dont see why anyone really cares, its a preseason game and the starters hardly play.

If it were the regular season it would mean something.

Nobody cares about this game. Dante Hall is completley right, we should be playing teams like the Bears, Chiefs, & Colts twice a year in the regular season instead of the Seahawks, Niners, and Cardinals. The NFL is in serious need of re-alignment.

Did Dante Hall really say “It’s mean nothing”?
