Pittman, Leonard, Minor . . . who needs Jackson?
Steven? Steven who?
Shoot, the Rams don’t need Steven Jackson. Not after pounding out 183 rushing yards Saturday night against the Chargers, the defending AFC West champs. Antonio Pittman cruised for 67 yards on nine carries, a glitzy 7.4-yard average. Brian Leonard tacked on 38 yards on eight tries with the first-team offense, and Travis Minor picked up 39 yards on 11 carries with the reserves.
OK, the run game was decent Saturday night. Still, the Rams produced just one touchdown — and once again, it wasn’t scored by the starters — in a 7-6 victory.
So, don’t be confused. The Rams very much need Steven Jackson. The question is, will they have him before next Saturday’s home game vs. the Ravens?
Stay tuned . . .

Notes & quotes:
>>What’s up with Marc Bulger? He was awful last week at Tennessee and not much better vs. the Chargers. For the preseason, he’s just 10 of 23 for 85 yards, no touchdowns and with two interceptions.
>>Brock Berlin, conversely, is 14 for 17 for 148 yards, and he hasn’t thrown a pick.
>>Finally, the tight end got involved in the passing game. Randy McMichael had three receptions for 54 yards, and Joe Klopfenstein had one catch for 12 yards.
>>The Rams’ four QBs completed passes to 10 different receivers. McMichael, Brian Leonard and Lance Ball had three catches each to lead the way.
>>A week after the Titans flattened the No. 1 defense, things were much different. The Chargers were without some of their stars, but as Rams DT Adam Carriker pointed out, “That’s football. You’re going to have injuries during the year, too. You’ve got to play with what you’ve got.”
>>DE Leonard Little looked as if he’d turned back the clock a few years. He had one sack and was in the backfield on several other occasions.
>>Rookie DE Chris Long made a nice play when he ran down RB Mike Tolbert from behind, preventing a first down and helping to stop a San Diego drive deep in Rams territory.
All for now . . .

im a rams fan from pa and watching these horrible seasons is killing me. i cant wait for the organzation to get smart and let go of scott linehan. everytime something is wrong he says o its ok its not a big deal. n the whole stephan jackson holdout, hes the biggest part of their offense get him into camp ASAP!!!!!!!!! as for bulger i think if he actually had a good oline he would an excellant qb dahhh!!!!!! the front office needs to get into shape soon!!!!!!!!
This is preseason football okay fellow bloggers and fanatsy footballers
Half of you Bulger/Jackson/Linehan/Rams haters think taking hits, bumps, bruises, learning new playbooks, dealing with the media, staying healthy and in shape and dealing with a**h**** like most of you leaving these sh*tty comments helps the players moral and fans base
So once again blogger universe and fanatsy fatballers prove my point..negative loser mortality
Try lacing up pads and taking hits from a Vandenbosch or trying to run up the gu of a folding up O-LINE
Just liek I tell WHITEY BALL FANS…WARNER FANS GETA LIFE AND MOVE ON
Do you think its 1982,85,87 all over again
Do you think its 99,2000,01,02??
Please get a life
You dont want to support a HOME TOWN NFL TEAM
Then dont and quit leaving crappy messages on here
Because of sh*tty messages like this makes me wonder if the Rams did move, how would you bloggers and fatballers work in your loser life day by not being able to sign in on STLTODAY.COM to trash a NFL home town team
All of you geta life and support the RAMS..no matter who is in charge
People like you Aaron are the reason the Rams can continue to suck and still be mucho profitable. Supporting failure after failure and expecting a different outcome each time is the definition of insanity.
Fan is derived from the word fanatic Aaron. This team is hard to sit and watch… not to mention get excited about.
Uuuhhh….so Aaron, get out much? Why do you care what we say as fans, even if it is negative? Please, I believe railing against a failing orginization is much more productive then ripping your fellow Ram fans for giving a crap! At least we care about the direction of our team, we may seem a little crazy….like Cromwell stated:
“Fan is derived from the word fanatic Aaron. This team is hard to sit and watch… not to mention get excited about.”
Forgive us for actually caring about the Rams Aaron, but if we sat by and didn’t care about the who, what, when, why, and the where….well WHY even watch? WHY even pay the ticket prices? WHY even bother? WHY EVEN GET STUCK PAYING FOR THE “ED’S” UPGRADE WHEN YOU HAVE A CRAPPY PRODUCT!? You sound like you don’t care about much….do you even vote for the U.S. presidents? Or do you just have such a wonderful life that you support the guy…no matter who’s in charge?? Anyways….
“All of you geta life and support the RAMS..no matter who is in charge”
That is an attack on your fellow Rams fanatics….don’t get us started! If us crazy fans are soooo bad for the moral, uuhh correction, morale of the team and other fans….well, you know what they say, “If you can’t take the heat, then get the hell out of the kitchen!”
Ram fanatics have every right to complain….oh, and for throwing out the…
“Try lacing up pads and taking hits from a Vandenbosch or trying to run up the gu of a folding up O-LINE”
Please, I have two torn rotator cuffs and I broke a few fingers playing ball back in the day….I don’t need a reminder of what pain feels like or how tough football is to not give a crap about how an orginization is run, that is an irrelevant statement because you have no clue who you are bitching at!? My opinion…..take a few laxatives and exercise more! And I will not ask what you meant about:
“Just liek I tell WHITEY BALL FANS…WARNER FANS GETA LIFE AND MOVE ON”
Besides the lack of spelling that is obviously riddled throughout your rant, getting racist on a blog of any sort is down right childish and ignorant! Peace….and remember fellow Ram fanatics…..kick and scream as loud as you want, especially since some think we have no lives, ugh!

And your one of the many reasons why around the NFL Rams fans are know for Bandwagon fairwether fans
So dont bitch, moan and complain when the Rams pack up and leave and you are stuck again watching KC and Miami games pre 1995
WHITEY BALL AND WARNER fans drive me nuts in this town
Guys, let’s keep this in “simple math” format. S. Jackson ranked 90th in 2007 as far as RB total salaries went. If you look at just his BASE salary, it improves all the way to 55th…right behind Moran Norris of the 49ers. WHO? That’s right, the number “whatever” back in SF gets more money than Jackson. Who else tops Jackson? Let’s see, Kevin Faulk, Marcel Shipp, Mike Alstott, Cecil Sapp (who?), Mack Strong…I can go on…but then I start to tear up a bit. We need to pay Jackson! Period (though I did use an exclamation point). Do you understand that Marcel Shipp would take a PAY CUT if he came to the Rams? If we can’t afford HIM, who could we?
Finally, because I’m a stat guy, I leave you with this…in 2007, the Rams rank 31st out of 32 NFL teams as far as total salary for a top RB (Jackson). This means every NFL team has a RB making more money than Jackson. The one exception? Ah yes, the Dallas Cowboys. Now let me see, who just got a huge contract this summer? That’s right football fans, Marion Barber…the RB for the Dallas Cowboys…fascinating indeed…
Aaron you call me a band wagon man? To reply to such a mis-spelling person makes me feel like I’m speaking to a 10 year old. Remember your lunch tomorrow and do not forget show and tell again! You are embarrassing your mothers.
Wow Cromwell, you told him. Another tough internet guy … ooooh, you are scary
