MEQUON, Wis. (Camp Day 19/early report)
The end is near.
After 21 days and 23 practices, the Rams will break camp Thursday and head back to St. Louis. They will have spent 16 days here at Concordia University and five in Nashville, where they practiced with the Titans before playing them in last Saturday’s preseason opener.
According to coach Scott Linehan, the players aren’t limping to the finish line. Linehan raved about the intensity Monday, the first practice since the 34-13 loss to Tennessee, and was upbeat again today after the morning workout.
“It was great,” he gushed. “I feel better about this week than I have maybe since the first week . . . our approach, guys working hard, fighting through adversity and pain. It’s really been good that way.”

Notes & quotes.
>>S Oshiomogho Atogwe practiced for the first time since pulling a hamstring July 28. He did limited work and reported afterward that his leg suffered no ill effects.
>>S Eric Bassey sat out with a slight neck strain, and WR Torry Holt rested a sore back.
>>The Rams, light at both cornerback and safety, are bringing in an as-yet-unidentified defensive back. If he passes a physical, he’ll be on the field this afternoon or Wednesday.
All for now . . . more following the afternoon practice (the last two-a-day workout of camp).
