Kennison intent on winning back Rams fans
Wide receiver Eddie Kennison returned Wednesday to the locker room at Rams Park for the first time in 10 years. “Fast Eddie,” the Rams’ first-round draft pick in 1996, was traded to New Orleans in ‘98. He signed a one-year contract with the Rams on Tuesday. Here are some excerpts from our chat Wednesday:
*On being back in St. Louis: “I think one of the most important things is not only to win the trust and respect of the guys in the locker, but also to win the trust and respect of our fans. If I remember correctly, I didn’t leave on a good note. So, I’ll try to get them back and . . . cheering for Eddie Kennison again.”
*On why the Rams fans soured on him: “That’s a good question. We had some bad seasons; I don’t think we had a winning season while I was here. The last season was 4-12, and it just wasn’t good overall. The fans want to win, and the years when I was here, we weren’t winning.”
*On adjusting to the Rams’ offense after having experience with Al Saunders’ system in KC: “There are some things that are just a little bit different, but nothing that I can’t handle (by) a couple of nights a week getting into the playbook really good and really studying the new verbiage. So, it’ll be pretty easy.”
*On the possibility of playing Sunday vs. the Giants: “I’m in great shape. But on game day, the tempo is a lot faster, it’s a lot more competitive, and I’m not in game shape yet. But I will be. . . . I think Scott (Linehan) and Al are very fair guys, and if I told them I could 20, 25 plays, I think they’d give me that opportunity.”
All for now . . . more after practice.

well now there’s the signing that’s going to turn this organization around. Happy days are here again!
Eddie is a bum the Rams need playmakers!
Alright, now all we need to do is break Lawrence Phillips out of prison.
“…nothing that I can’t handle (by) a couple of nights a week getting into the playbook really good…”
wait.. what?
Is that why he didn’t touch the field yesterday? Two nights a week?
How many weeks?
So, we let Issac Bruce go & pick up cry baby kennison? We give away Madison Hedgcock, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Kevin Curtis only to replace them with inconsistant players who are used to loosing. Most the the players we have now, have loosing backgrounds and don’t know how to win. They are just satisfied showing up.
