Latte, anyone?
SEATTLE — Boy, this would be a great town if you could just find a good cup of coffee somewhere.
Just kidding.
It’s a typical Seattle day: cool, overcast, but so far no rain. The lights are on at Qwest Field.

The Seahawks faithful are shaken by their outfit’s 0-2 start. Here’s how Seattle Times columnist Jerry Brewer sized up the Hawks’ situation heading into the game:
“Win in, and the Seahawks will still have a tough trek ahead, but starting receivers Deion Branch and Bobby Engram should be healthy enough to assist the rest of the way.
“Lose it, and the Hawks fall to 0-3, including consecutive losses to NFC West foes. They would be lower than the Rams, whose owner hinted last week that one more bad game could lead to mass firings.
“No way the Seahawks lose this game.
“Right?”
All for now . . . more after the game.

Dear Ram faithful:
I’ve been with the Rams since watching them at about eight years old in LA.
Unfortunately, I feel this team is worse than the Brooks era.
I wrote Gordo an e-mail about six months ago, got a stupid response that
indicated his lack of experience or understanding. I said that you cannot
run a team out of Bel Air, California, sit back and enjoy a martini from
long distance. Gordo said something like if they can win, the manager could
be on the moon! Earth to Gordo. Football is not a long distance commitment.
Win or lose — like them or not — but look at Pittsburg, New England,
Dallas where management and owners are there everyday, supporting the
troops. The Roneys never gave up, George Halas made the bears and the list goes on.
Always, you have to go to the top of the triangle and look to management.
That is where is begins and ends.
Amen. I wish there were some magical shortcut like hiring Parcells to clena up the mess. I remember when George Allen left the Bears, came to
LA and made an instant change. He brought Bill George and some of his studs along for the ride.
I don’t think its a good thing to roll a team under the bus. Everyone is
saying play with more gusto; nice idea but if you simply do not have the
horses, all the gusto in the world is not going to beat superior talent.
The Rams will be back. I hope I’m alive to see it happen because I cannot imagine an instant fix.
Cheers,Ram fans. Keep a stiff upper lip. As disappointed a I am, I saw some
positive changes in this game. For brief minutes, there were clouds of
yesterday!
Bill
