More odd goings-on at Rams Park
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Just when you thought things couldn’t get any stranger at Rams Park . . .
*Scott Linehan, who normally meets with reporters on the field as soon as practice ends, jogged off Friday without comment and reportedly was in a meeting with GM Jay Zygmunt.
*Marc Bulger, who usually is not reluctant to take questions even in the toughest of situations, made himself unavailable to the media for yet another day following his demotion.
*Steven Jackson, who on his radio show Thursday night said Linehan’s benching of Bulger was the “wrong decision” and indicated that other players felt the same way, shooed away reporters, angrily telling one, “You’ve done enough.”
And the soap opera rolls on . . .

And the beat goes on… the plot thickens… and any other cliche you can think of…
I doubt Jay will do the right thing and fire himself and Scott. Weird Alice has nothing the Rams. The most dysfunctional professional sports franchise I’ve ever seen.
I hope that meeting between Linehan and Zygmunt is to tell Linehan he’s being fired, it needs to be done and everyone can see it.
I love that Marc isn’t saying anything. If you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say it at all. We all now how blunt and straight forward Marc is, so this does not surprise me.
Yes, Bulger has class. Jackson needs to take a lesson.
He can jabber about Bulger’s pay and him not playing, but at least Marc is a team player.
I think Bulger is the biggest wuss to ever play the game. You would think if you were getting sacked multiple times you would get in the face of your offensive lineman and tell them to do something. I think Bulger is a mute. I never see him talking to anyone on or off the field. Who needs to go? I can answer my own question. Shaw, Zygmunt, Linehan, Haslett to name a few. Dave Checketts will you please buy the Rams? I am very happy to see the St. Louis native getting the start. Maybe he can spark the offense. I don’t even want to bother talking about the defense, it will take way to much of my time. The picture that was on this website was classic. All the coaches looking at the replay all standing together. I never laughed so hard in my life.
Bulger trade to the Vikes in the works. Holt trade to the Charger.. unload these old a$$ players. Time to start fresh
A once proud franchise is the now the joke of the NFL…sad!! Benching Bulger is not solution to the vast amount of turmoil. Green will get killed also…the line can’t hold anyone back!! Linehan is in waaaay over his head, Haslett has lost his killer instinct as a coach, GM and president are jokes and are lost as what to do to right the ship, Rosenblooms threat of change was empty….If you look back a few years, the crumbling started when Martz took over. This franchise was on the verge of becoming a dynasty. Everything was in place but slowly and methodically Martz took it apart, and it has obviously gotten worse. These problems won’t be fixed on the field this year but changes where decisions are being made need to start now!!
Chip? Chip Rosenbloom?? Is that you?
My take on this is that the players don’t want to play for Linehan, not Bulger. In light of his benching, Marc’s teammates are coming to his defense and not the coach. What does that say about the situation? A coach who can’t motivate an 0-2 team going to a divisional game is a coach who should soon be out of a job. I’ve played competitive sports and if guys won’t play for the coach, then you are past the point of no return. Linehan’s record speaks for itself. The experiment is over. It’s time to get some new leadership in there, and not just the coaches. Heads should roll in head office. I think Marc is making the right decision by keeping his silence. He is class all the way. I’d keep him over Linehan.
I think it starts with the offseason, the rams last few first round draft-picks were average role players why not get some playmakers. Baron is nothing like Pace, Long is not an impact player, Hill is not a coner back. We are in dying need of a linebacker. Why not make a move a get a free agent reciever or safety. At this point the only person the can turn this team around is Bill Parcels.
