Politics invades Rams locker room
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
As the players relaxed in the locker room at Rams Park before practice Thursday, there was much discussion of politics. Several offered critiques of Sarah Palin’s speech at the RNC, while Corey Chavous read aloud a Newsweek piece on the Bush Administration’s handling of the Iraq war. Several of his teammates were gathered around, perched on stools, listening intently.
All for now . . . more after practice.

When you have nothing of substance to offer, attack the other side. That seems to be the McCain campaign war cry for the presidency. I agree with the players. Palin is a puppet.
Palin was outstanding last night, as for the no substance thing, show me one place where Obama has outlined his plan to improve, the economy, jobs, national security. His speech was nothing but open promises to 95% of the country, never saying how it would be paid for. He wants to make McCain (George Bush) but that’s desperation. McCain is a true war hero who is a straight talker. Obama talks out of both sides of his mouth, depending on his audience. McCain will keep us safe while Obama will make us a target. Just my humble opinion….
Go RAMS!
Now I know why we always get our brains beat in, our team is full of liberal weenies.
It has nothing to do with being liberal. It’s a color thing. Most blacks think that O is African American, but he’s not. He’s Arab. he’s only 7% of African decent. It’s like calling your self Native American (Indian) when your only 7% Native American. Not to mention he’s accomplished nothing, and is afraid to vote on anything.
Wow, 7% African decent say? SO, Mr Obama’s father, grandfather, great grand-father, ALL KENYANS, are? what? NOT African? Spend two seconds looking for the truth and you will find it. Must be the new math 1/2 = 7%
On strictly paternal lines your can go back twelve generations, all Kenyan.
And none of the stupidity about genealogy has anything to do with who really means they want to get this country back on track.
In fact Obama & GW Bush are 10th cousins. SO WHAT? means nothing
JUDGE THEM BY THE CONTENT OF THEIR CHARACTER!
Oh sorry, their politicians, character and partisanship/spin are mutually exclusive.
Good to know the Rams are aware of what goes on around us though.
This is about football not politics. At work don’t talk about religion or politics because not everyone will like what you will say. Keep it out of work and let’s get ready for Philly……..politics is politics. Football is LIFE!
GO RAMS!!!
why hacen’t the remaining 13 players cut been posted?
Most atheletes live a lifestyle and have an income that is recession proof. So it is no suprise to me to see them speak about “Nobama” as if he is the second coming. Obviously he doesn’t have a plan to get us out of the funk this country is in, his foreign policy is a joke, his stance on gun-control sounds like something from Nazi Germany or Stalinistic Russia. He has played to whatever crowd he is speaking in front of and doesn’t say a thing that has any substance to it. I would rather have MaCain (not my first choice, but the lesser of two evils) watching my back on foreign policy and keep America protected than some dude that wants to sit down with Iran and “talk about it”. I don’t care if you are a man or a woman (Condeleza Rice is my choice for the highest office), black, white, brown, yellow, blue or green, I just want a person in there who will not run and hide or take away my rights as an American citizen.
Just my .02 worth. Thanks for listening.
Keep buying what their selling. That’s all I’ve got to say to those of you who want to demonize Obama, and pretend McCain and Bush are something other than peas in a pod. These decisions affect our daily lives, and nothing could be more important than that.
Take a look at the two proposed tax plans. I make between $45-50k a year. You would think my party, the Republican Party, would be looking out for me, but in reality it is Obama’s plan that cuts back the tax burden for the middle class American. Now if you are very wealthy, go ahead and vote McCain. His plan truly does benefit you the most. Look it for yourself and quit buying what your being sold.
I thought this was about football. I’ve had politics up-to-here. Give it a rest and lets figure out how we rebuild this loosing team.
