Here is one blogger’s grades for the Rams after Sunday’s 41-13 loss to the New York Giants:

QUARTERBACK:  If DE Justin Tuck doesn’t make a great play on his interception for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, Marc Bulger probably finishes with a passer rating of about 100. Decent day despite heavy pressure. GRADE: B

RUNNING BACKS: Jackson would’ve had a 66-yard TD, instead of a 15-yard gain, on the second series if he hadn’t tripped himself up on the turf. His other 12 carries netted just 38 yards — an average of just 3.2 per try. GRADE: C

RECEIVERS: Torry Holt had 76 yards on six catches, including an eye-popping 45-yarder for the Rams’ only TD. No other receiver produced more than 29 yards. And why did the Rams draft Donnie Avery and Keenan Burton if they’re not going to use them? GRADE: C+

OFFENSIVE LINE:  Tackles Orlando Pace and Alex Barron were OK, but the interior was pounded by the NYG front. Six sacks and many pressures. GRADE: D+

DEFENSIVE LINE: First-round draftee Chris Long got his first sack, and fellow DE Victor Adeyanju picked up his second in his three seasons. Still, Giants averaged 6.5 per carry in rolling up 200 yards on the ground. GRADE: C

LINEBACKERS: Pisa Tinoisamoa and Will Witherspoon were solid. Quinton Culberson didn’t do much. GRADE: B-

SECONDARY: S Oshiomogho Atogwe was burned by Plaxico Burress’s double move for an early TD.  Didn’t the Rams watch the film of Hank Baskett’s double move on a 90-yard strike last week? Giants went after CB Tye Hill aggressively, and often successfully.  GRADE: D+

SPECIAL TEAMS: K Josh Brown nailed a pair of 54-yard field goals, and Donnie Jones was terrific, averaging 55.7 yards (43.0 net) on six punts. Coverage was so-so. The Rams didn’t get much on their returns. GRADE: B+

COACHING: Scott Linehan is taking plenty of heat after two rough outings. But when are his heralded coordinators, Al Saunders and Jim Haslett, going to produce with their units? GRADE: D

All for now . . . more after Linehan’s media get-together Monday afternoon.

I would agree with some of this. However, the offensive line would receive an F. The only one who was worth a damn was Pace. The others were throwing look-out blocks most of the day. No wonder Bulger acts like a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. The secondary would also get an F. This unit will get torched more times this year than the Dome itself at a Arsonists Convention. I read some of the post-game comments by Linehan, and it sounds to me like a coach “trying” to keep his job. This team has quit on him which means he should go. Problem is none of the other coaches should take over the team. Front office has set this team up for failure for years to come. What a shame to all… especially the season ticket holders. Glad I’m not one of them.

Bill,
Your grades are as lousy as the Rams…. D+ is slightly less than average, Chavous, Otagwe Hill, Wade and Bartell weren’t slightly less than average they were TERRIBLE and that deserves an F…..C+ to the receivers????the same ones who got little or no separation, another F….Bulger and his “close to 100 passer rating” you’ve got to be kidding!! Other than that hail Mary to Holt every other pass was the distance from me to my monitor, and what the heck ever happened to throwing the ball more than 2 feet over your head, another F!! I realize the O-lines recent performances have probably lowered everyones expectations but D+????6 sacks, numerous knockdowns thwarted screens blocked passes????What the hell game were you watching????Another F,and while I’m at it, you too Bill Coats gets an F!!

The Rams were very close to winning this game. The score could have easily been the reverse, That’s how close this game really was. it was a matter of inches on play after play. That’s all. I predict the Rams will run the table and easily win the home field throughout the playoffs. So this next game is very important in regards to the playoffs.

Bill, I’m sure most fans out there would agree with me when wishing you were grading our college papers. PLEASE….. 41-13 with some of the highest paid personel in the NFL and your combined grade average is a high C. Once again unfortunately the Rams were the biggest joke in the NFL. The Rams should once again be collectively embarrassed, but we know they won’t be, in fact they will somehow feel disrespected by the much deserved critisism that will come their way after this most recent debacle. By the way Rams, just a thought, if you wish to play in a top 7 facility the least you could do is be a top 30 team!

The Rams need to fire Linehan and his coaching staff, give Dick Vermeil an offer her can’t refuse, trade for Isaac Bruce, and then let Dick do that thing he did for the Eagles where he let the fans try out for the team. I think we could at least find a better offensive line that way.

Oh, one more comment. How funny was it to see all of those special teams players bounce off of the Giants’ return man? I imagine it would have worked better if they had played some live ragtime music and added those cartoon-like sound effects of them bouncing off and hitting the ground.

Bill Coates, you must be employed by the Rams, because you soft peddled this horrific meltdown. 6 sacks is an F, Giving up 200+ yards rushing is an F. You are way off here sir, and it actually makes me question you journalistic integrity.
