Rams report card vs. Giants
Here is one blogger’s grades for the Rams after Sunday’s 41-13 loss to the New York Giants:
QUARTERBACK: If DE Justin Tuck doesn’t make a great play on his interception for a touchdown in the fourth quarter, Marc Bulger probably finishes with a passer rating of about 100. Decent day despite heavy pressure. GRADE: B
RUNNING BACKS: Jackson would’ve had a 66-yard TD, instead of a 15-yard gain, on the second series if he hadn’t tripped himself up on the turf. His other 12 carries netted just 38 yards — an average of just 3.2 per try. GRADE: C
RECEIVERS: Torry Holt had 76 yards on six catches, including an eye-popping 45-yarder for the Rams’ only TD. No other receiver produced more than 29 yards. And why did the Rams draft Donnie Avery and Keenan Burton if they’re not going to use them? GRADE: C+
OFFENSIVE LINE: Tackles Orlando Pace and Alex Barron were OK, but the interior was pounded by the NYG front. Six sacks and many pressures. GRADE: D+
DEFENSIVE LINE: First-round draftee Chris Long got his first sack, and fellow DE Victor Adeyanju picked up his second in his three seasons. Still, Giants averaged 6.5 per carry in rolling up 200 yards on the ground. GRADE: C
LINEBACKERS: Pisa Tinoisamoa and Will Witherspoon were solid. Quinton Culberson didn’t do much. GRADE: B-
SECONDARY: S Oshiomogho Atogwe was burned by Plaxico Burress’s double move for an early TD. Didn’t the Rams watch the film of Hank Baskett’s double move on a 90-yard strike last week? Giants went after CB Tye Hill aggressively, and often successfully. GRADE: D+
SPECIAL TEAMS: K Josh Brown nailed a pair of 54-yard field goals, and Donnie Jones was terrific, averaging 55.7 yards (43.0 net) on six punts. Coverage was so-so. The Rams didn’t get much on their returns. GRADE: B+
COACHING: Scott Linehan is taking plenty of heat after two rough outings. But when are his heralded coordinators, Al Saunders and Jim Haslett, going to produce with their units? GRADE: D
All for now . . . more after Linehan’s media get-together Monday afternoon.

Well Bill I hope you’re boss’s aren’t as lenient as you are, and you loss you’re job over this sad column . The same way the RAMS all should lose their jobs for the disgraceful performance on the field today .
Unless Linehan is going to step down from the position of head coach this afternoon he shouldn’t even bother to meet with the media. What is he going to say? The same old excuses from the same old Rams..
The Rams have drafted poorly for years, long before Linehan got there. That leaves Jay Zygmunt holding a bag that smells bad. A part of me says don’t blame the coaches because they don’t have the talented people other teams have. With that said the coaches still have to take some heat because this team plays with no passion, no heart and that is their fault. Something has to be done before the players with talent Bulger, Holt, Little, Pace and a few others are gone and there won’t be any talent left. I have been a Rams fan going back to Jones, Olsen and Gabriel and even when the Rams weren’t good at least they played hard, that can’t be said for many of todays Rams.
OK. I give up. What does a game look like where someone, anyone, gets an F?
Bulger getting a B? We were watching the same game? He checked down too quickly all game long and missed on a few wide open players (McMichaels comes to mind). Also, Holt’s TD catch should have been an easy catch. Holt torched the CB but was forced into a circus catch because Bulger WAY under threw the ball and the defender failed to make the catch. You say Bulger got unlucky w Tuck’s INT… I say he was even more lucky to get that TD and avoid another INT.
Too high of grades buddy, nice try though.
Did we watch the same game? How aren’t there F’s all around except for kickers?
Coaching: D? Should be an F Horrible coaching again.
Secondary: D+? Again….F Burned repeatedly. Atogwe, Hill, AND Chavous
Linebackers: B-? Should be a D
Receivers: C+? Nobody gained separation. Should be D-
Quarterback: B? No leadership. Should be a C-
What game were you watching, anyway?
You are very generous with your grading system. You would have Steven Jackson a Rhodes scholar.
Bill-If 41-13 does not result in any “F’s”, what does? You’re grading curve is way too generous.
