Shakeup on defense

If Wednesday’s practice was a true indication — and it usually is — the Rams might well have five new starters Sunday when they take on the unbeaten Buffalo Bills at the Dome.

We knew Tuesday that Trent Green was taking over for Marc Bulger at quarterback. It also looks as if four lineup changes are coming on defense:

*Cornerback Fakhir Brown, who started in Tye Hill’s place Sunday at Seattle, was released Wednesday morning. Hill was back in the lineup at practice.

*Clifton Ryan was at defensive tackle, replacing La’Roi Glover.

*Victor Adeyanju was at defensive end, in James Hall’s spot. (We don’t know yet whether Leonard Little will be healthy enough to play this week.) Adeyanju was on the left side, with Chris Long back on the right side.

*Chris Draft was at strongside linebacker, taking over for Quinton Culberson.

Give coach Scott Linehan at least some credit: He vowed to make changes, and it looks as if he has. Of course, with the Rams dead last in total defense in the league, it really was a no-brainer.

All for now . . . more after we talk with Linehan.

Why is Tye Hill still on this team? Isn’t there a high school that can give one of its students a day pass to play corner for that clown?

Linehan must have Trent Edwards on his fantasy team because that is the only reason why T Hill should be out there on Sunday, that or Hill can suck a medicine ball thru a garden hose!!!

It does not matter what players you put on the field at this point. This team is worse than last year… Heads need to roll now… Starting with the head coach. He is the one that put this pile of #@*&%$ together…
Green may give them a spark, but he is going to get crushed just like Mark when he has a 320lb lineman tossed on top of him at the snap of the ball…

You can not give Linehan any credit. True he is making changes, but they simply confirm that he has no idea on how to get out of the mess that he has created with this football team. Tye Hill needs to be benched (very least) or cut (preferred). He has been burned for several large yardage plays in the first three games and this weekend will be no exception.

Who will be replacing Scott Linehan and Jim Haslett this Sunday?

Bring in ILB J Leman. He was a tackling machine at Illinois and I believe he didn’t make it with the Vikings. At least he’s a sure tackler, unlike every other Lb on the roster.

How can any of these changes, honestly make a real differance, its the same coaches, with the same schemes,or packages, whatever, maybe we only lose by 17pts(so thats progress),Fire all the coaches, this just is a fascade that Linehan is trying,he is a phony,,,,so its all Bulger and Browns fault, Right !!! Idiots

Credit goes to the Front Office and Coaching Staff upon their mass resignation, nothing short of that. This is the Bill Coats who gave the team passing grades for last week’s performance, LOL. Let’s see, why do we have to “shake up” the playing mix? Could that be because key players are battered and bruised and scared (Bulger) or that they are crappy players to begin with (responsibility — Jay Zygmunt) or badly coached (responsibility - John Shaw and Jay Zygmunt for hiring Linehan).

This is so silly. I predict an utter disaster Sunday with even more confusion than usual. Oh, maybe we get a little pump at the start. It won’t last.

There is some debate among Buffalo Bills fans how good their pass rush is, so Green may not have it as bad as it could be. They do have an outstanding run defense, so if Jackson is contained, it will be pass and pass and pass. After awhile, you can expect the pass blocking to break down. The defense…..forget it.

Hi Rams fans,

I think its time to think or act on replacing all the coaches starting with Linehan. Heck what is can hurt the Lambs?

I am so glad to see these changes. I am sick to death of everyone blaming the coaches. I can’t tell you how many times I heard that the team doesn’t want to play for “those” coaches. All I can say to that is get over it. This is your job! I don’t always like my boss either. I can’t believe we pay them multi-millons and they get to pick their boss! Something is wrong with this picture.
