Top football movies? Check this list
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
According to Hollywood.com, these are the top 10 football moves, in order:
1. Remember the Titans
2. Friday Night Lights
3. Varsity Blues
4. Rudy
5. Any Given Sunday
6. The Longest Yard (the original, presumably)
7. Invincible
8. North Dallas Forty
9. Jerry Maguire
10. The Waterboy
Thoughts? Any additions (no, you can’t nominate the game film from Sunday in Philly) or subtractions?
All for now . . .

What, no Heaven Can Wait? Any movie in which the Rams win the Superbowl is an automatic top 10!
that they have The Waterboy on there but left out Heaven Can Wait is downright stupid. I’d rank North Dallas Forty higher also.
But my all time favorite is Jerry Maguire. Tom Cruise is actually very good, RenĂ©e Zellweger is hot, Cuba Gooding deserved the Oscar, and any movie with football and Kelly Preston’s gorgeous knockers is an all time winner!
The tops is Brian’s Song from the 70 starring James “Eldrick” Cann and Billy Dee “Eldrick” Williams.
the program isn’t on the list??? that movie is one of the best football movies, i can’t believe they left it off the list.
I’m not sure I’d really count Jerry Maguire as a football movie. There was football in it, but so not the point of the movie. The first three are spot-on, but i’d have moved Invincible up a spot or two.
What about “The Replacements” This movie was good for some laughs.
Facing The Giants……excellent movie! It’s actually a movie done by a church. Sounds cheesy, but it’s actually a great football movie.
Check it out sometime guys!
Guess there’s alot of young’ns out there. Hands down, “Brians Song” a
UNANIMOUS winner!!!
I agree about Brian’s Song. Great subject, best tv movie ever made. I’m wondering if everybody’s forgotten The best of Times w/Robin Williams & Kurt Russell.
Definitely Brian’s Song should be on the top of the list. I also think that Heaven Can Wait should be on the list too.
