Haslett: Jackson is 50-50 for Sunday’s game

Coach Jim Haslett said after practice Friday that running back Steven Jackson’s availability for the Rams game at New England won’t be determined until Sunday. Jackson, who strained his right thigh last Sunday against Dallas, suited up and practiced for the first time this week. He did individual work and took a handful of snaps during the 11-on-11 “team” segments, but wasn’t running at full speed.

“It’ll be a game-day decision,” Haslett said. “He doesn’t need a lot of reps because he knows everything.”

Asked whether he felt optimistic about Jackson playing, Haslett said, “I don’t know, to be honest with you. I think it’s probably 50-50.”

Defensive tackle Adam Carriker, who sprained an ankle vs. the Cowboys, also took part in his first practice of the week. Like Jackson, Carriker got in for a few plays in the team periods. “I think he’s in the same boat,” Haslett said. “We’ll work them both out on game day and see how they are.”

All for now . . .

If the thought of having one of the best jobs in the world, being well repected among your working peers, and great pay does’t motivate you to play every game you can… Nothing matters to you..

Coleyrock– You are way off base. It’s not that Jackson isn’t motivated to play, its that he’s still injured. Playing hurt doesn’t help the team, and it doesn’t help Jackson. It will only worsen his injury.
