Running back Steven Jackson is in uniform and on the practice field this morning at Rams Park. Jackson, who strained his right thigh muscle last Sunday vs. Dallas, is taking part in most of the drills. Jackson sat out practice Wednesday and Thursday.

Defensive tackle Adam Carriker (ankle) also is practicing for the first time this week, although he’s limited. Cornerback Tye Hill is suited up for the first time since undergoing knee surgery for torn cartilage suffered Sept. 28 vs. Buffalo. Hill won’t play Sunday at New England but could be ready for the Nov. 2 contest against Arizona.

All for now . . . more after practice.

Do we really want Tye Hill to suit up?

Whoever said Jackson should basically feel obligated to play is pretty off base. We all realize how HUGE this Patriots win would be. That said, unless Jackson is able to play the 9 games after sunday, his possible performance sunday is irrelevant.

Sure, we all want him to play.. but if he’s at risk of further injury, he shouldn’t play. I want him to play as bad as everybody else.. as the 2 game streak is pretty nice for us win starved Rams fans. But gotta have some perspective.
