Updating a previous report . . .

Steven Jackson took part in most drills today during practice at Rams Park, taking about a third of the snaps with the first team. Jackson missed last Sunday’s game at New England with a strained thigh muscle, and Antonio Pittman started at running back.

Ron Bartell, who missed a couple of series vs. the Patriots with a stinger, was on the field with the first team. Fellow cornerback Tye Hill (knee) also got in some team work and could be ready for Sunday’s game against Arizona. Defensive end Leonard Little (hamstring) and defensive tackle Adam Carriker (ankle) did individual work and took a couple of reps in team drills.

All for now . . .

Is the Rams game soldout against the Cardinals so it will be shown on channel 2?

Steven Jackson Should have tried to play last week. He seems to miss more games due to being “hurt” than any Runnning back in the league. Portis has had an ankle/hip injury for weeks and he has been gutting it out. If your star player is your RB, he better be able to play at least 15 games per season. Jackson seems to miss too many games, I love his production when he does play, but I dont think you can count on him staying healthy. There is a difference between being Hurt, and being injured. Jackson needs to figure this out and realize that if he can get in there and play at 80-90% he should. He is too selfish, and now that he got his pay day I see him missing a lot more games in the future

Will,

When you get a clue you may starting posting again.

Do you really think Steven Jackson went thru his walk thru Sunday morning at Gillette Stadium and then just decided to call in sick to work?

I don’t think so. For players like Jackson it is a life long dream to go play on Sunday, not to mention - against the team of the decade. He tried to give it a go, but he decided it wasn’t worth the risk to further injure. Haslett even said if were the playoffs he would’ve been out there.

I applaud Steven Jackson for not risking further injury and I look forward to going to the ED this Sunday and watching him run over the Cardinals. So far he has missed one game this season, this still keeps him on pace to meet your requirement for RBs to play 15 games in a season.

And I forget that Marshall Faulk NEVER missed a game. It must be all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!

Come this Sunday night, people will be thanking SJ for not playing against the Patriots and getting healthy.

Quote me on that.

In the words of the fearsome foursome “meet at the quarterback” which would be Kurt Warner, if the rams do that and Jackson is Healthy our Team wins. Go Rams, Sorry Kurt thanks for all you have done for the Rams but I hope Leonard Little and his boys tee off on you this weekend.

Will- You’re totally dead on. Jackson has been hurt every year since taking over for Faulk. There is a difference between injured and hurt. Portis has been running his butt off because his team needs him. Jackson is out there running and taking snaps. He is a talented, selfish back that I wish Dallas would have drafted before he fell to us.

Sheriff- You’re a freaking Legend in your own mind. Telling Will to get a clue? You’re the Sheriff of Mayberry and your posts are a joke!

You want to bring it? Bring it.

Will et al….you guys are Looney Tunes regarding S Jax. Since he began his career, he has played in no less than 14 games….except last year when he played in 12 due to a TORN groin muscle. Get yer facts straight so that your opinion has a hint of credibility!

Tye Hill??? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Just when things were starting to look good. Mr. Pick reminds me of the little guy swingin’ at the big guy while the big guy has his hand on the little guy’s head, holding him at arms length. After last week, I’d prefer to drop Long into coverage. Damn, that kid can move!!!

I agree with everyone that says Jackson was right in not playing. Why chance an injury in a game that they were not supposed to win. Instead lets get him healthy for the Division opponents and see what he can do. Two games out of the West lead with a very favorable schedule. Cmon Rams fans I admit that I was down on them and I am a PSL owner but what I have seen in the last couple of weeks on Defense and offense gives us more hope than we ever had this year.

Why do so many sniveling so-called fans waste time from their miserable lives to blog about something they know so little about. YOU folks that complain about everything, booing and blogging the Rams right back to California. Are you as critical of yourself, your family. You surely never accomplished anything worthy of folks gathering to watch you. To the rest of you, please excuse my rant, and enjoy the game. These Rams have talent, and this coach gets them to compete for 60 minutes. This run should be fun to watch.

Hey sheriff,

Your comparing Steven Jackson to Marshall Faulk? Are you kidding. Jackson is not even close to being a leader or competitor compared to Faulk. Jackson should have taken himself out of the Dallas game after his long TD run!! Every fan I was with were screaming when he returned to the field!! Look what happened!! A “real” leader huh? Faulk was a better blocker, receiver, and runner than Jackson. I have a feeling Marshall would NEVER miss having had a second chance against the Pats!! Don’t compare Steven to a future Hall of Famer. I still think Steven can get better but there is no comparison…yet.
