Two wins, and two NFC weekly honors for the Rams.

Running back Steven Jackson has been named the conference’s offensive player of the week after his 160-yard, three-touchdown rushing performance in the Rams’ 34-14 pounding of the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Jackson also caught two passes for 16 yards before suffering a thigh injury that has been described as a slight strain. Coach Jim Haslett said he expects Jackson to be ready for Sunday’s game at New England.

Last week, safety Oshiomogho Atogwe was the NFC defensive player of the week. His 75-yard fumble return was the Rams’ only touchdown in their 19-17 victory at Washington. Atogwe had two interceptions vs. the Cowboys.

Notes & quotes:

*On Tuesday, the Rams released WR Eddie Kennison and promoted S Eric Bassey to the active roster from the practice squad. S Todd Johnson is expected to be out two weeks after suffering a bruised kidney vs. Dallas that required him to be hospitalized.

*Rookie David Roach, a former TCU safety, was signed to the practice squad. Roach was with the Saints in training camp and spent some time on their practice squad before he was released.

All for now . . .

Steven Jackson is the heart and soul of the Rams. He plays with passion and reckless abandon. The award is well deserved. I hope he’s available against the Patriots on Sunday.

Well Maybe Jackson should had not held out and ran his mouth early on! We may have won some early games but instead we let Linehan down and cost a good man his Job… If he ran like he ran his mouth he might be a better player….
