Tight end Randy McMichael, who broke a bone in his lower right leg Sept. 28 vs. Buffalo, has been placed on injured reserve, meaning that his season is over. McMichael was the Rams’ third-leading receiver, with 11 catches for 139 yards. Joe Klopfenstein replaces him in the starting lineup.

Daniel Fells, a 6-foot-4, 252-pound tight end, takes McMichael’s place on the roster. Fells, a California-Davis product, was signed off Tampa Bay’s practice squad. He was on Oakland’s practice squad last season. In 2006, he made Atlanta’s active roster as an undrafted rookie but was inactive for every game and released after the season. Fells never has appeared in an NFL regular-season game.

All for now . . . more after practice.

And why was this guy picked up to replace McMichaels.. He sounds like a nobody that will contribute nothing this year… Will he even contribute on special teams… I know they could have used his spot to pick up an o-lineman, safety, LB etc… If Klop a 2nd rd pick can’t step to the plate… Why is he still on the team collecting money. I wish I was lousy at my job and could continue to get paid..
