Richie Incognito takes his turn ripping St. Louis Rams fans

Two years ago, it was Steven Jackson who jumped on Rams fans for selling their tickets to Bears supporters. “I have a big problem with that,” Jackson said. “There were a lot of Bears fans in sections they shouldn’t have been. . . . When we ran out in pregame, we were booed. It was terrible. I couldn’t believe it. To be at home and feel like I’m at a road game, it was just embarrassing.”

Now, with the Bears — and their legions of fans — coming to the Edward Jones Dome on Sunday, Richie Incognito piped up.

“It seems like our fans aren’t coming to the game, so it’s fun when the other fans come in and start hooting and hollering. At least someone is in the Dome yelling,” Incognito said after practice Thursday. “When we played the Giants (Sept. 14 at the Dome), they had the whole lower bowl filled up (with Giants fans). We know how our fans feel about us; that’s fine.

“It’s nice to have the other fans here. At least they cheer. Our fans get in their seats, they don’t know how to cheer, when to cheer. We get the other team’s fans coming in, and they cheer real nice for us. It provides for a good football atmosphere, having the Chicago fans down here.”

Notes & quotes:

*Incognito (shoulder) was a full participant in practice and, barring a setback, will start at RG on Sunday. Still, coach Jim Haslett would like to get rookie John Greco some reps in the game.

*Jackson said that his strained thigh muscle is feeling better and that the plan is to have him go through a demanding workout Saturday, then see how it responds. He’s hopeful that he’ll be able to return Nov. 30 vs. Miami.

*Thursday’s practice was unusually physical. “That’s how this game’s going to have to be played this week,” Haslett said.

All for now . . .

Oh, I didn’t realize it was our fault. Do you realize that the reason the other teams fans are cheering is because THEIR TEAM IS KICKING THE CRAP OUT OF YOU!!!

Move ‘em out. We don’t want them. Overgrown crybabies.

Pretty stupid to mouth those that pay your salary…

Hey Incognito I didnt know you were a star in the NFL,you sure in the hell dont play like one.

Rams fans know when to cheer….when the Rams don’t suck…..

there was plenty of cheering back in 99 - 01.

ROID RAGE Richie…Hey fatso you better play nice with the fans…other than football what are you going to do? There are not a lot of openings for the strong man in the circus. Are you qualifed to do anything else?

— RBN
3:14 pm November 20th, 2008

We pay the Rams to show up & they don’t. You suck & we will still continue to be fans & support you, but fans sell their ticket so they don’t have to waste extra time driving to see you in person. We can watch on tv & see you get crushed & roll over into the fetal position. At least the tickets can be sold and we can get something out of this season. You are pathetic. You are making the Rams of the 90’s look good.

Ditto, Ditto, Ditto, Ditto, Ditto, Ditto, Ditto - PUT up or SHUT UP, Richie boy!!!

3:18 pm November 20th, 2008

Incognito - I’ll make you a deal. All of us season ticket holders will come to the game if we all get to smack you upside the head every time you get penalized for something stupid!

3:18 pm November 20th, 2008

REALLY???? I love how this moron, Incognito, can blast the fans after practice, and then come game time, he gets stupid penalties for being a hot-head. Unless your the Cardinals, St. Louis is a fair weather sports town–and I have no problem with that–we don’t support LOSERS (the Cards have EARNED the support for the numerous competitive years they’ve given us). Maybe if the Rams actually played with a little heart, the dome would be a little more exciting…and I’m not talking about winning, I’m just talking about playing an entire game. I don’t recall Marshall, Kurt, Isaac, or Tory ever complaining about the lack of noise or enthusiasm in the Dome from 99-01. SO…give us something to cheer about, and you’ll hear it, b/c right now, the Rams aren’t worth the energy.

Richie who? What a clown.
These guys need to actually do something (like lose a game by less than about 3 TD’s)before running their mouths about the fans.

— JDH
3:19 pm November 20th, 2008

Unbelievable. I can understand Steven’s beef with being booed as they’re coming onto the field, that’s just unnecessary. But Richie’s comments…

— RedGoblin
3:20 pm November 20th, 2008

Incognito plays like he is incognito or at least should. Our offensive line and I do mean OFFENSIVE should actually block and keep their mouth’s shut.

— pappyo
3:21 pm November 20th, 2008

You gotta be kidding me. These guys make tons of money and have the nerve to rip fans who want to seel a ticket. I’m a season ticket holder and have been to tons of games over the past few years, never sold a ticket, always cheering and yelling. I sold mine for this Sunday. For just one game, I am refusing to pay to see the crap this organization is putting on the field and charging a lot of money to see.

Richie Incognito can kiss my butt. For all I care, we can ship him out to somewhere else.

— RGW
3:21 pm November 20th, 2008

This is the problem with that entire team. Blame it on something else. It’s not the coaching staff, its not the fans at the Dome, the plain and simple fact is that these players are not good enough. Enjoy your time in the NFL, because after this year when about 50% of you are cut and no one else is going to pick you up because you are not NFL caliber. Quit getting your butts handed to you and play like you care and maybe, just maybe you could get some fan interest.

3:23 pm November 20th, 2008

I kind of like it. However, Little Richard’s timing is a bit off. I brought the topic up about a month ago(topic heading… Edward Jones Library). The difference is that I brought it up when it actually seemed like the team was trying. They were still losing, but it at least it seemed like the effort was there. Since then, the team seems lethargic, like they couldn’t care less. They’ve reverted back to the attitude they seemed to have for the Eagles game back in September. Back then, I thought it was the coaching. Now, I realize that the problem must go much deeper. Also, Richard you may wanna have it as quiet as possible so you can concentrate on not committing another ridiculous, drive killing penalty on a last minute drive. Of course, when was the last time we had a last minute drive that would make a difference?

— greg cromer
3:23 pm November 20th, 2008

That’s the lowest of low when players start blaming their suckiness on the fans. Incredible!

— Dennis
3:25 pm November 20th, 2008

Hey Richy…when should we cheer?? After we are down by 7?..by 14 maybe??…what about down by 21?…should we go nuts then?? That covers the 1st quarter. Your an idiot. Good thing football needs big muscle bound meatheads or you would be asking for my change on the corner.

— Alan
3:27 pm November 20th, 2008

How about this guy blocks and not draw penalties! Would anybody pay to see a team if they were continually blown out! Most of our losses are by several touchdowns with no lack of effort. You can’t be a pro team and get paid millions and not do your job. all of your customers would be fired at their jobs for not giving the appropriate effort. So look at it as a way of firing you. We sell our tickets b/c we’ve given up on you since you already gave up on yourself, your teammates and all of us before the season even began. I mean 2-8 record! Seriously??

— g
3:27 pm November 20th, 2008

you guys take it personally, and shouldn’t (unless you’re one of the lumps who comes to the game to sit in your seat and have a cocktail.

but guess what…he’s right.

we are the crappiest fans around right now. Rams games are boring as hell in terms of atmosphere and on field play. It’s pathetic. No doubt, but it’s still fun to cheer. And few do.

I have season tickets, I go to every game. I’m not saying this from my couch.

I get told to sit down on 3rd downs because people behind me can’t see.

Pathetic. I’ve been to plenty of stadiums to see other crappy teams play and they sure as he ll don’t make sections of people sit on 3rd downs. It’s horrible. ( a lot of it starts with the ushers - they need to loosen up a bit)

— R.C.
3:28 pm November 20th, 2008

What an ingrate.

I’ve been to every game since the Rams moved here. With the players not appreciating my support, I am beginning to not appreciate giving them a couple thousand dollars a year.

— AdmChesterMynutz
3:29 pm November 20th, 2008

While I agree with Richie that the fans are quiet (the same can be said of Cards fans), his timing is awful. This is not the time to be calling out the fans. The team sucks right now and they should be concentrating on playing better football…not what happens in the stands.

That being said, the fans of STL teams have gotten very passive. Most prefer to sit and watch rather than cheer. I think that most people are embarrassed to cheer or think it is beneath them. My rule is: the more expensive the ticket the quieter the fan.

— stldrakelaw
3:31 pm November 20th, 2008

Having cheered for the Greatest Show on Turf, I am getting pretty sick of the current set of cry babies who seem to think it is the fans fault that they can’t defend their quarterback or make holes for a running play. Remember too that we live in a free market society and people pay hard earned money for a GOOD product. Start producing and quit your whining. I’ll be cheering, and it will be a great big BOO when Incognito hits the field.

— Keeping My PSL
3:31 pm November 20th, 2008

No, I think he’s right. We don’t - or at least I don’t - know how to cheer for losers such as Incognito.

— Christopher
3:32 pm November 20th, 2008

Richie and Steven really don’t when it’s appropriate to run your mouth about the fans. You can run your mouth when the team is playing well. Now is not the time, with a 2-8 record.
That being said, there is some truth to what he says. If you have ever been to a Rams game at that sterile, dark, bland stadium you realize how pathetic many of the fans are. Go to a Mizzou game, Chiefs game, or high school football game to see passionate football fans. Watch the fans in the lower bowl during TV games and you see no passion, no spirit, no nothing.

— Dean B.
3:32 pm November 20th, 2008

R.C. - I completely agree with you. I was once kicked out of a Cards game for yelling “Let’s Go Cards” too often. No vulgarities just being a loud fan. The people around me complained and they kicked me out when I refused to shut up.

— stldrakelaw
3:33 pm November 20th, 2008

It would be easy to rip Richie: Why expect fans to show up it players don’t?

However, it is clear he has a bit of a wild thing streak, and that this streak makes him a better football player. So let him pipe up. Who cares?

— Steve
3:36 pm November 20th, 2008

The NFL should fine him. This is a bigger affront to the people who pay the bills than organized touchdown celebrations or hard hits.

— Dave
3:36 pm November 20th, 2008

Two years ago, it was Steven Jackson (at least Jackson actually contributes to the team from time to time) who jumped on Rams fans for selling their tickets to Bears supporters (I don’t sell my tickets but I don’t blame Rams fans for selling their tickets to Bears fans who want to pay for next years season tickets. Mainly because as Rams fans we only look forward to next year.).

“It seems like our fans aren’t coming to the game (seriously Richie-go a single game without a bonehead move or play well as a team on the offensive line and people may care what you say), so it’s fun when the other fans come in and start hooting and hollering(When this team play shows any effort toward being a winning team, the fans are there and rowdy. This place was great in from 1999-2003 and then awful players like you showed up. GO AWAY! . At least someone is in the Dome yelling (we are booing you idiot. Again, go away!,” Incognito said after practice Thursday. “When we played the Giants (Sept. 14 at the Dome), they had the whole lower bowl filled up (with Giants fans)(Wasn’t that the week after you went and played so well against a team that would later tie the Bengals. Way to go LOSER!. We know how our fans feel about us; that’s fine (Richie-you have no fans. The team would be better off if you went away and played for another team and became their cancer. GO AWAY! Rams fans want to believe in this team but instead of showing an ounce of heart, you all decided to play for the paycheck. Well that is what Rams fans can do to. Sell your tickets because players don’t care-they just care to whine about how bad the fans are-Look in the mirror Richie and Rams!).

“It’s nice to have the other fans here. At least they cheer. Our fans get in their seats, they don’t know how to cheer, when to cheer. We get the other team’s fans coming in, and they cheer real nice for us (they boo you idiot-You are a joke. I hope they cut you). It provides for a good football atmosphere, having the Chicago fans down here (Go play for Chicago then-oh I forgot-they wouldn’t want you. Go find a bar you piece of rotten poop).”

— Kevin
3:37 pm November 20th, 2008

RC is correct. I have been kicked out of Rams games twice for standing and cheering. The atmosphere is horrible. Richie shouldn’t be complaining though, especially after taking the second half off in SF because he “hurt” his shoulder. Miraculously, the doctors found nothing wrong other the Rams being behind 35-3.

— Drunken Sailor
3:42 pm November 20th, 2008

He has to be one of the biggest wastes of space. Richie, get off of the roids, not only are you growing moobs, you now obviously have mental issues.

— Steve
3:43 pm November 20th, 2008

Incognito has been our best lineman this year. So those of you trying to avoid the issue of us being a boring crowd by attacking his play are off mark.

Just saying.

— R.C.
3:43 pm November 20th, 2008

Is he kidding? Name one thing the Rams have done in the Incognito era that is worth cheering for.

— WG Jim
3:44 pm November 20th, 2008

Incognito and Barron make up the dumbest right side of any offensive line in NFL history. So why are we listening to this guy? The Rams at this point are not only a lousy football team, they are heartless. That is why they are not worthy of our support.

— essay
3:44 pm November 20th, 2008

He’s right tho. Rams fans are morons who don’t know how and when to cheer. That place is more sterile than an operating room…and probably less fun. Screw this team, let some other city support them.

— Kermit
3:45 pm November 20th, 2008

“Don’t know how to Cheer, When to Cheer” ! How about when your losing by 40 at the half, are we to cheer then ? How about when the “D” couldn’t stop a Grandma on a after Thanksgiving shopping spree, Is that the time to cheer ? You guys are pathetic !! I know when to GAG; it’s when I watch you ladies play.

— EvaluatorMan
3:48 pm November 20th, 2008

You don’t score,I don’t cheer. Simple as that.

— Haras
3:49 pm November 20th, 2008

I’ll show up and cheer when you show up and play. Until you start acting like you’re part of the NFL, I’ll keep my money in my pocket, thank you very much!

— Rico
3:49 pm November 20th, 2008

WG Jim:

I’ll outdo you by one.

Here are two things.

Beat Dallas (SJ’s long run was a product of Richie and Torry Holt)
Beat Washington

Were you not cheering? My guess is yes. I guess it was worth cheering for then.

— R.C.
3:49 pm November 20th, 2008

Well, we certainly know when not to cheer. Somebody better tell Ritchie those Bears fans are cheering the Rams because they are helping the Bears win.

— jfmoyn
3:52 pm November 20th, 2008

Incognito is right. He dresses “incognito” every Sunday and attempts to play football. With the economy in turmoil, I sure hope he has his next ‘job’ lined up. I’m sure he’ll make a very good bouncer.

— JC
3:52 pm November 20th, 2008

These jokers are the laughingstock of the league. Just wait until all of the PSL holders relinquish their rights at the end of the season. The Jones dome will be a ghost town.

— smm172
3:54 pm November 20th, 2008

I guess Richie wasn’t here from 99-04 when the Dome was one of the hardest places to play in the NFL.

The lesson, as always: People aren’t going to shell out $80 to watch one of the worst football teams this decade get blown out every week. And those that do come, will have little to actually cheer about. Maybe if we had a few red zone appearances or held teams to a few 3rd and longs when the game was still meaningful, the Dome would have a little atmosphere.

This is on you and your boys, Richie, not us.

— Dan
3:56 pm November 20th, 2008

Incognito doesn’t know how to block, or when to block. When he learns, someone might cheer for him.

— Outcognito
3:57 pm November 20th, 2008

Maybe if this team wasn’t among the worst in the league then the fans would actually have something to cheer about!

— CardsfanInIL
3:58 pm November 20th, 2008

If these guys would worry about what they are supposed to be doing and shut up on and off the field, the team and the fans would be better off!! The way the season is going, Haslett should bench some of these clowns and then they may get the message or at least they will have more time to talk out of their backside!!!!!!

— Keith
4:00 pm November 20th, 2008

Maybe if Richie would play as hard and as good as he is at being mouthy, maybe just maybe this team could win. He is a lot of mouth and makes a lot of stupid plays to penalize the team to cause all the losses they have.

— Dan Myers
4:00 pm November 20th, 2008

I think that if Richie were playing for a team this bad in New York or Philadelphia, he would be glad for the fans to remain quiet!

— RedDan
4:02 pm November 20th, 2008

Hi Richie,

Maybe if you weren’t terrible I would cheer.

Love,

The City of Saint Louis

p.s. - I don’t notice this same problem at Cards or Blues games. Isn’t that weird. Maybe if every game I watched didn’t make me break a remote controller or cuss so loud the neighbors can hear me rant, I would be a little more pumped to come drop some coin at the Ed. Oh yeah and Richie you are 5-21 in the last two years, I bet if we were louder you would be in the playoffs right? I can’t get up to go stand and cheer for a team that quits and wins less than 20% of its games. I’m sorry.

— Will
4:02 pm November 20th, 2008

75-3 in the first half in the last two games, 3-13 record last year and on our way to another 3-13 season. RICHIe, JUST WHAT IS IT I AM SUPPOSE TO CHEER ABOUT, THE ONLY TIME I GET TO CHEER IS WHEN WE WIN THE TOIN COSS.
Richie, been a football fan for a long time, my parents had season tickets to the Big Red and I have been a season ticket holder with the Rams since the beginning, We did something the Sunday you played Arizona we never did in all those years WE LEFT AT HALFTIME!!!!
Richie you suck and the Rams suck PERIOD
Mr Rosenbloom you better pay attention you season ticket holder base and the value of you franchise are disappearing faster than my 401K!!!!

— bantam weight
4:02 pm November 20th, 2008

Again, according to many coaches R.I. has been the best lineman all year. So ripping his play as a means to avoiding the issue of STL having poor fans misses the mark.

— R.C.
4:05 pm November 20th, 2008

hey richie, those fans aren’t cheering because you are good. They are cheering because the opposing team is beating your a$$

— James
4:06 pm November 20th, 2008

Amazing that this Yahoo seems to think it’s the fan’s fault that they suck. That’s OK…he won’t be around next year so he can rank on whatever city’s fans he ends up. If we get some positive personnel back in uniform…that would be a good start.

— alaskamuddog
4:11 pm November 20th, 2008

2-8 Shut up and play! Just another player that needs to be gone. Who cares what he thinks. I’d like to sell my tickets too. At least I could get some money back from a bad investment.

— Wayne
4:11 pm November 20th, 2008

RC
How are Rams fans bad fans, every game so far this year has been a sell out!! This is for a team that has been horrible the last few years.
Richie says we don’t cheer and don’t know when to cheer. Well just what is it I have to cheer about???? It’s obvious Richie wasn’t here in 1999-2004, the place was as loud as any NFL venue.
By the way, I sold my Bears tickets for twice their face value and I will not attend any more games this season, I refuse to throw good money after bad. I seriously doubt I will renew my season tickets again next year, which honestly saddens me, I love football but I refuse to support an orginization that simply doesn’t know what they are doing.

— bantam weight
4:12 pm November 20th, 2008

incognito’s brain is the size of a small walnut. if he blows his knee out, he’ll be cutting grass for a living. keep talking though richie, your more entertaining than the team. Maybe they should look into putting your thoughts on the jumbo-tron, i’d buy a ticket for that. your an idiot.

— jud
4:12 pm November 20th, 2008

Hey Richie,
Maybe it’s about time you go Incognito, quit drawing attention to yourself, and actually play some decent football. Ranting at the fans isn’t going to cover up the fact you’ve been stinking it up on the field. Grow up, big boy, and do your job.

— Grant
4:14 pm November 20th, 2008

HOW SAD IS IT STL THAT UR OWN TEAM IS PUTTING YOUR SORRY A$$E$ DOWN…AGAIN!!! AND BELIEVE ME YOU “STL” FANS HAVENT CHEERED SINCE 1999! I AM SO SICK OF WATCHING THE GAMES ON TV AND SEEING NOTHING BUT THE OTHER TEAMS FANS IN THE CROWD, LOUDER THAN YOU! AT LEAST WHEN THEY WERE IN LA AND YOU WERE WEARING ANOTHER TEAMS JERSEY YOU WOULD GET YOUR A$$ KICKED! I REMEMBER GOING TO A RAIDER/RAM GAME IN ANEHIEM AND SEEING 1500 PEOPLE GET KICKED OUT! IM NOT SAYING YOU STL FANS NEED TO BEAT THE FANS UP, BUT SHOW SOME PRIDE FOR YOUR TEAM! WE ALL KNOW HOW BAD THE RAMS ARE RIGHT NOW BUT THE STATE OF THE FRANCHISE IS IN YOUR HANDS! AND RIGHT NOW ITS SLIPPING OUT LIKE A MARC BULGER PASS TO JACKSON IN THE ENDZONE! I THINK MOVING THE RAMS TO STL WAS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE TO THIS FRANCHISE AND A MEASLY 10 YRS LATER ITS SHOWING! GET LOUD STL!! CHEER ON OUR TEAM!!! I HOPE WE SEND ALL THOSE BEARS FANS HOME WITH THEIR HEADS DOWN! GO RAMS!!!!

— ryan
4:18 pm November 20th, 2008

Hey Richie, why don’t you and the rest of your 2-8 loser teammates GIVE THE FANS SOMETHING TO CHEER ABOUT? You’ve won 2 freaking home games in 2 years, haven’t had a winning season in 5, and haven’t made the playoffs in 4. Try WINNING first. Do you know what that is?

— Jeffrey Crawford
4:21 pm November 20th, 2008

We want to stay quiet… so you and your moron linemates can hear the snapcount and STAY ON-SIDE and START TO MOVE AT THE SNAP OF THE BALL!!! NOT BEFORE!!!! This was a way wrong statement to make, I hope you are proud of yourself, errode that fan base a little more. How stupid. I’m done, when does spring training start? Call Mr. Bidwell for a good moving company reference. GO BACK TO LA!

— John
4:25 pm November 20th, 2008

Incognito: “…Our fans get in their seats, they don’t know how to cheer, when to cheer.”

The fans don’t cheer because we are watching YOU play. Rams fans have not had anything to cheer about, since Linehan was fired…and that was more of a sigh of relief, than a cheer!

Jackson: “…To be at home and feel like I’m at a road game, it was embarrassing.”

What is embarrassing, Stephen, is having to admit that I’m actually a Rams fan! The sad part about this, is that the Rams are embarassed by their fans, not their play on the field! They’re completely clueless!!! Even after watching films of themselves, week after week, they still don’t understand why fans wouldn’t want to spend $75 for a ticket, and another $40 on beer just trying too numb us to the pain they are putting us through.

— JWS
4:26 pm November 20th, 2008

Ingognito is correct. Rams fan are fools. Perhaps if the so called Rams fans knew something about the game, the players would be more motivated to win. Way to go Incognito.

— bigbob
4:27 pm November 20th, 2008

Funny thing is if S. Jackson had some real blockers he would not be hurt. I think that Richie Incognito has to have an IQ of 6 to mouth off right now. The owner of the team will likely make him pay for this. It is no time to be anything other than humble and working hard. Richie Incognito has not earned anything in the NFL, he has potential, but it has never been fully used. If you are the town clown you should not expect another team to take you. Being a starter on the worse team in the NFC does not mean there is another team who would sign you.

— dan g. in saint louis
4:29 pm November 20th, 2008

Hey BigBoob, pass the kool-aid please.

— bigboob!
4:29 pm November 20th, 2008

thank you BIGBOB, i agree! isnt there a BLUES GAME on sunday you clowns can watch?

— RYAN
4:30 pm November 20th, 2008

Hey Richie;

You need to take a look at the standings once in awhile. Because of your knuckleaded play at Washington the Rams are lucky not to be 1-9.

— osully5040
4:31 pm November 20th, 2008

Dear Chip. Cut him.

— moehoward
4:33 pm November 20th, 2008

Richie is just upset because the only thing he is really good at is hitting people AFTER the whistle…while that other player is not looking. You’re right Richie, we didn’t know we were supposed to cheer for that. Our bad. Bonehead. You couldn’t even start for my high school team. You’re weak, and everyone in the league knows it, that’s why they work to get under your skin. You’re weak and worthless. It appears your mouth works though, so you have that going for you.

— Boooring
4:37 pm November 20th, 2008

St. Louis = fair weather fans x infinity.

This is going to be a great game, can’t wait to see all the people come down from Chi town and show this city how to party on and off the field. Do you know why people for St. Lois hate people from Chicago, because they are a bunch of Suburban dorks that are jealous of people from Chicago (big city big fun). Move back to your city or shut your holes St. Louisans. Go Bears

— Chi Town stuck in the loo doo doo
4:38 pm November 20th, 2008

You know I understand we should be super fans an support our local teams. But when you don’t go out and disrespect the City of St. Louis when you wear that Jersey every Sunday playing worse than little league football players then we do not have to respect you.

— RobSTL

I agree with Richie. Rams fans are clueless. Nobody is in their seat when the game starts and unless they’re the Greatest Show on Turf the fans make no noise whatsoever. The NFL knew exaclty what they were doing when they gave a team to Jacksonville and not us. Go to KC for a game and see what real fans are like.

— Joe Haar
4:39 pm November 20th, 2008

I have to say, Ritchie is right concerning the St Louis based fans! I can’t stand the seats being filled with more visiting team fans over Ram fans!

We have a team, this year it isn’t a great team, but we still have one! LA would love to have the Rams back but I want them to stay here and am willing to support them despite what many others think!

To me, a single fan is worth 100 spectators all day long!

Richie - you’re an idiot. Here’s an idea - why don’t you start playing better and winning some football games, and maybe you’ll hear more cheers. Sound easy enough?? Probably not for you. Just continue to stink up the field then blame the fans. I don’t remember a lot of other teams fans here in 99-01. It’s simple - win.

GO RAMS!!!!

— ryan
4:50 pm November 20th, 2008

Richie,

Give us something to cheer for! I’ve seen 2 wins at home in the last 2 years. By the way, what’s the N on Nebraska’s helmet stand for? Knowledge!

— Brad H.
4:55 pm November 20th, 2008

I completely understand his comments. The atmosphere at the dome is lousy compared to other stadia even back in the heydays of Warner, Faulk, Fletcher and Co. While I don’t blame any fan for not showing up to watch this excuse of a team, I’ve always felt that the fans are just too quiet or the building is just too lousy. So while I disagree with the first part of his gripe about selling tickets, I’m fine with his comments about not knowing when/how to cheer.

— Senator
5:00 pm November 20th, 2008

I can’t believe this baby is complaining, If you want your fans to cheer, you have to give them something to cheer about, so WIN!!! If you want fans to shell out a lot of money to watch you play, you have to WIN!!! That money goes to your overpaid salary, so stop embrassing your fans with your crap play, and don’t kick us while were down calling us bad fans!

— KikoSanchez

I seem to remember a lot of cheering during the Dallas game…..do you see the correlation, Ritchie?

Probably not.

— dave

Excuse me but what is your record? How about what is your record for the time you have been on the team?

— Alan
5:11 pm November 20th, 2008

Remember me to cheer, if Bulger gets sacked for a 12 yard loss on 3rd and 1.

Remember me to cheer, after the Defense lets a 76yard pass drop for a TD…

Not a whole lot to be excited about, if your team is down 30 points by halftime.

Anyway if I had any money I would go to the Blues, at least they have a plan and potential.

— netherlands
5:15 pm November 20th, 2008

I know he is trying to get a rise out of the fans. But what is the point. We are playing for a high draft choice. Half of these losers will be off the team next year.

I have been to every home game since they moved here. The Fans are more a real part of the Rams then these fly by night players. We bleed ram blue. We spend our money on this crap.

— buzbeto
5:16 pm November 20th, 2008

If the Rams fielded a team that actually gave a shit, then more fans would show up….GO BEARS!!

— jeremys
5:16 pm November 20th, 2008

Hey Moron,

Start playing like a professional football team instead of a bunch of Pop Warner rejects and maybe you’ll hear cheers. Try not giving up 40 pts. before halftime for a change and just maybe, we’ll know when to cheer.
This form a complete idiot that nearly cost the Rams a win(few as they may be)with a dumb penalty.
Get rid of this LOAD!!! He’s Useless!

— Bob
5:20 pm November 20th, 2008

Totally agree with RC. In fact, that’s what I said about a month ago. I’ve been asked on numerous occcasions to stay seated and not yell so much. Garbage. The Edward Jones Library. Incognito is still a moron for speaking up when they’re so horrible.

— gregcromer
5:22 pm November 20th, 2008

Rams fan for life, better yet, St. Louis fan for life (all spots teams) but Ritchie and everyone else on this site has a point, the team stinks and we, the fans, stink sometimes. The fans need to pick it up and so does the team. That’s just the plain truth but do not tell us that we DO NOT know how or when to cheer, that’s BS and a lie, do your part and we will do ours. Richie, we got a deal.

— JMAC
5:26 pm November 20th, 2008

greg said it all. THEY TOLD HIM TO NOT CHEER SO LOUD!!! LOL!!! GREAT STUFF ST LOUIS!

— ryan
5:32 pm November 20th, 2008

It’s actually kinda true. I’d like to be mad, but Incognito is one of the few Rams who actually goes out there and plays every snap hard. I’d have more of an issue if it was, say, Holt, who has played hard an average of two snaps per game this year. But Incognito has a right to be mad, he’s surrounded by teammates who don’t care and fans that don’t care. Doesn’t sound very pleasant to me.

— Jake
5:36 pm November 20th, 2008

Richie,
We know when NOT to cheer.
1. When you get another holding call
2. When you have another false start
3. When you get a personal foul for being a hot head and bringing a 25yrd run back.

We Know when to cheer also.
1. When we have a QB that doesn’t suck
2. When you are not playing
3. When we spend our hard earned money to watch you guys and you actually try to win a game.

Do all of us a favor and block the way you are suppose to when you are making millions to play a “GAME”. Oh yeah we pay your salary too, you schmuck .

Waaaaaaa…. waaaaaaaaaa… waaaaaaaa… you mean old Rams fans! I like the Bears fans better. Cogs, you suck!

— Da Rams!
6:04 pm November 20th, 2008

No, Steve and Richie, the embarassment is not the opposing team’s fans cheering at the dome…..it’s YOUR performance or lack thereof. Wouldn’t it have been nice if S Jax or Icongnito had said something along the lines of: “Yeah, it’s an awful situation that we’ve brought upon ourselves. Hopefully, we’ll turn it around. I promise the fans that we are dedicated in our efforts and that we are working hard every day toward the goal of making the Rams winners again”. How difficult would it be for either athlete to show a little humility and respect to the fans who pay their inflated salaries? Pleeeeeez, Mr. Devaney…..Don’t draft any more chowder heads like these 2 underachievers.

— knuckles
6:06 pm November 20th, 2008

PS…..NO amount of cheering will make this team win games with the pathetic roster assembled by the 2008 Rams.

— knuckles
6:09 pm November 20th, 2008

Richie, if football doesn’t work for you, I’m sure some seedy nightclub owner will love you as a bouncer for his club but the poor sap should beware because he would be broke after you insult all his paying customers.

Give the fans something to cheer about for once, for crying out loud, you might be surprised.

— Jason G
6:13 pm November 20th, 2008

I agree with Richie… case in point - I was at a Cardinal baseball game with a rare opportunity to sit in the field boxes. A season ticket holder shows up in the 2nd inning raises a big ruckus for 3 innings so every body knows he’s there , chats it up with the ushers - and leaves in the 6th.

Baseball or football - it’s all the same crowd in the lower bowls. Freaking fair weather fans make me sick.

— Tom
6:15 pm November 20th, 2008

Maybe the players should rip the management. To spend about $100 a person to see a bad product makes no sense. What is worse this has been going on for a long time.
How many entertaining games have we seen over the last 3 years. It’s not always about winning, but at least make it fun.

Maybe I have blocked it out of my memory but I don’t think the Big Red was this bad even when their records were . Is it possible Jay Zygmont is George Boone with a plastic surgery ? You can not draft any worse than the Rams have done since 2003 . That is why the fans don’t want to come.

They see people paid silly money and not earning it . If they are not good enough, it’s not their fault. If they are then earn the money. Most likely they are not .

So instead of being mad at the fans, lets go after the real villains

Shaw an Zygmont

6:18 pm November 20th, 2008

The dome is quiet, isnt that why they play music before the game like jackson suggested. I mean if it hadnt been quiet, then they wouldnt be playing music now. Some fans in the dome get upset if you stand up and cheer. So, what he said bears some truth and sometomes the truth hurts. So Rams fans make some noise and be louder than the bears fans. Hey we try and make more noise than the Cubs fans when they come to town during the summer.

— Ramsfan
6:21 pm November 20th, 2008

Let’s be reasonable here:
Richie was an idiot before he came here.
Richie has been an idiot since he’s been here.
Richie has been an idiot this week.
Richie will be an idiot next week.
Does it really matter what Richie says?
When an established idiot does or says something idiotic who, but an idiot, would be surprised or outraged by it?
Pleeeze! This is a non-story!

— greasedog
6:28 pm November 20th, 2008

That’s because the other fans have something to f***ing cheer for! Who the hell does he think he is bashing STL fans when he’s lucky any of us come to the games at all! Maybe if they got their heads out of their asses and played some competitive football, we would come and cheer for them! That’s rediculous! I hope we show him how we feel this week and boo him out of town. That’s bullshit!

As a fan of St. Louis Sports for over 30 years I have never come across the way today’s athletes talk about the fans (Remember Steven & Ritchie the fans pay your salaries)the way you do… I have backed the Rams since coming to town just like I have continued to root for the Arizona Cardinals sine leaving town… The way athletes are today makes me want to puke especially the high priced ones that are so stuck on themselves and forget about playing the game like it should… Ever watch a guy make a sack or score a touchdown and dance around while at the same time being down 28 points(what a disgrace)… Have some class like L. Tomlinson, B. Sanders, or the late W. Payton - flip the ref. the ball and go back to the huddle. As for those that like to speak out to the media like they are something special first look at your record and see why the fans are not showing up… last article in the Post showed that the Rams margin of lose is the highest in the NFL and that out of the 8 loses now 5 have been by more than 20 points… So Ritchie and Steven before popping off to US underpaid fans try playing a whole season so that the fans can see what a real team looks like…Right now the Rams are like the stock market — The investors are not getting much of a return in the last 2-3 years on their investments…I know I’m not the only one that feels this way and I hope that someone within the Rams Organization sees this prints it out and hangs it in the locker room for everyone to see… Lets all have fun with this… GO CARDINALS…

I have no prob with what Richie said, It sucks to have fair weather fans who only care when we are playing for the super bowl, Rams fans are front runners, of course there were fans and cheering in 99-01!!! The Rams should move to a city that would be happy to have a team. I’ve been a fan since they were in L.A. so i could care less where they play. If you are a fan you should be ashamed of being drowned out by the visiting teams fans i dont care how crappy the rams are, take a note from the soccer fans in europe, they go nuts even if their team sucks, lets get a group of Rams Hooligans to fight with the trespassing bears fans!!!

— Ted
6:53 pm November 20th, 2008

Hey Richie BONEHEAD; we pay your salary. What have you shown us to cheer about? We are suppose to cheer for a team that humiliates itself, the city and the entire state? Quit smoking whatever you are smoking and start earning your money.

— Ron
6:58 pm November 20th, 2008

WELL TED IF YOUR THAT MUCH HOOKED ON A TEAM THAT DOES NOT GIVE IT THERE ALL INCLUDING SOME OF THE COACHES IN THE PAST… YOU MAY WANT TO PULL FOR JEFF COOPER AND HIS ORGANIZATION AND TRY TO GET THAT MLS SOCCER TEAM TO COME TO COLLINSVILLE.. AND THEN MAYBE YOU CAN GO CHEER FOR THEM…. I KNOW THAT JEFF WILL PUT A QUALITY TEAM ON THE FIELD.. AND NO WE ARE NOT FAIR WEATHER FANS WE ARE JUST TIRED OF PAYING BIG BIG DOLLARS TO PLAYERS THAT DO NOT GIVE A HOOT IF THEY WIN OR LOOSE — AS LONG AS THEY GET THE BIG PAY… IF THIS IS NOT THE CASE ASK EACH PLAYER TO GIVE BACK ONLY 10% OF THEIR SALARY SINCE WE ARE STILL GETTING LESS THEN 50 PERCENT OF THEIR PLAYING ABILITY…(I WANT THE POST TO POST THESE IN THE PAPER)…

PLUG FOR MLS SOCCER AND FOR-RUNNER JEFF COOPER..

— Scott L.
6:59 pm November 20th, 2008

I will pull for Jeff! Plus yeah i’ll cheer for the rams no matter how crappy they are, I love how you can say they dont care or dont try, they just arent that good, Haslett would not have a guy on the field that is not trying or doesnt care, Ive been on bad teams before and I busted my ass along with my team mates, whatever, hate on them and turn your backs all ya want, When we are good again it will feel that much better that I was there in the worst of times, go Rams and MLS!!!!

— Ted
7:11 pm November 20th, 2008

Young Richie,
I admire your intensity but cannot condone your statements. Your remarks should have been something of the effect, “We have not played well enough to earn further cheering. We will work harder to earn it and we would greatly appreciate any added support the fans can give us now.” That is the only professional and effective response you should have stated to acknowledge your team’s very poor performance and to garner fan support.

You should now put your big boy pants on and publicly apologize for your misguided comments. You hurt your team with such remarks. You have much to learn. At this time you are only a boy in a man’s body. Your father will probably be calling you soon.

— lifter
7:15 pm November 20th, 2008

Unbelievable-
The fans don’t know how to cheer? What should we cheer about? A false start penalty by Barron? The dropped interceptions? The poor tackling? The 2 yard passes to Holt? A 4 yard punt return? Please Richie, help us out. Get this moron on a bus out of town.

7:28 pm November 20th, 2008

In case you haven’t noticed, Incognito has been our best offensive linemen this season. Check the film - I have.
Unfortunately, Rams “fans”, he is on the money. The truth hurts. It drives me crazy how 95% of the fans sit on their butts the entire game and then I get yelled at every time I stand up to cheer. If we lose our football team, I’m out of this freaking city full of pansies.

— Ramswin
7:34 pm November 20th, 2008

— guitardrums
7:42 pm November 20th, 2008

As a former season ticket holder I know for a fact that the Ram’s fans DO know when and how to cheer. What I don’t know, because I haven’t seen it, is whether the current Rams know how to play like professionals. The next time you or your ‘mates choose to run your mouths, try looking into the mirror first. The next time you hear the lower bowl filled with visiting fans, understand that your inept play caused it to be that way. SHUT UP AND PLAY LIKE A MAN.

You might want to check your historical facts. Bidwill left town because he couldn’t get local governments to build him a stadium. Said it at the time, says it now. When the stadium vote won, he was asked what would have happened if it had occured five years earlier. He said from Phoenix “this would be a local call.” The Big Red were consistently in the top third of the league in percentage of seats sold. The fans had NOTHING to do with the Big Red going to Arizona.

Quite simply, the average Rams fan is far more subdued and more concerned about people NOT standing and blocking their view and LESS concerned about actually supporting the team….Goto KC, GB or Chicago if you don’t believe it. I’ve seen people being told to sit down because other “fans” were aggravated by their noise and excitement. Like it or not, it’s the truth.

Good for you Richie tell them like it is! I have been to a lot of football statiums in my travels and I have never been to a Stadium were the fans arrive at the game in the first quarter and leave by the begining of the fourth quarter. I’ve had to remind fans around me to cheer otherwise they just seat there and stare. When the other teams offensive is on the field they should be screaming “defense” no they are just staring. I guess Steven and Richie are just telling it like it is! It’s hard for you St. Louis fans to accept the way you are especially coming from a player who does play with great energy. In other cities like N.Y. Greenbay Wisconsin, Seattle,Pittsburg and many other cities where there team is losing or winning they are still shouting at the top of there lungs maybe not what a player might want to hear all the time but they are there through the worst of times and the good ones too. Because that’s what other fans do in football stadiums across this country. In St. Louis you are more amused by the other teams fans hollering and shouting just for entertainment. The choice of music they play is what you hear in elevators ! The sound system is so bad the fans have to be quite so that they can hear it! The drummers are Ok, you might as well seat them up in the nose bleed section cause you can hardly hear them, So until you St.Louis fans learn how to be loyal fans and take a message well sent from Incognito and Jackson or just live with other fans ruling your dome. Remember players don’t have a choice of where they play they are drafted. It’s the organization that signs the players and coaches and makes all the decision on game day. Just telling you like it is!

…un f’n believable!! The fact that millionare football players (or those who imposter professional athletes) would have the nerve to trash talk fans whose $$’s pay their salaries when you’ve won 5 games in 2 years is mind boggling!!

Yes, the atmosphere is sterile, uh, maybe the fact that watching this team is like watchin retarded children trying to play a grown up’s sport…doesn’t help the game day vibe either…it’s more like…”oh, how sad…who let those athletically challenged kids play with the big boys!” And yes, fans may grab their cocktail and sit back and get lit to ease the pain as they’re asking themselves ”why do I continuously waste my hard earned dollars and one of the only days I don’t have to work, to come down here and be disquisted?”

Does this D Bag also not realize there’s 10 million people out of work and he’s lucky to have a job at all much less one where you can show up for work everyday, not do your job and still get to keep it? I’m quite surprised this steriod freak even has the nutz to make such a statement to the media!!

Shut the F up and win a game and then you can run your mouth all you want you idiot…and when you do run it I’m sure it’ll be during a drive killing moment that costs the team the game.

oh, by the way…the Bears fans are cheering for u because u suck and it’s a guaranteed W on their schedule…they know it’s probably the only cheers you’ll hear all season!

Until the Rams start putting a product on the field that at least can pretend to care about what they’re doing…I’d rather spend my Sundays watching ice freeze!

I come home after a hard days work and read this garbage. The nerve of this guy. My blood is boiling as I read his comments. After the thousands of dollars I’ve spent, the emotional investment I’ve made, through the good times and bad times the players have the nerve to blame the fans. As an original season ticket holder I demand that this guy be cut tomorrow. Why you’re at it replace the rest of the losers in the locker room. I never thought I would say this but I will look forward to seeing the bears give these ungrateful losers there weekly beat down. Watch as the Rams roll over and play dead. This Sunday I’m going to boo these losers with every ounce of energy that I have. I’d say the Rams have a mutiny on their hands.

Just by reading your response you can tell how inteligent you are so you call your self a Rams fan. Did Incognito draft the players or pick the coaches or run good players out of St. Louis or make the game plan or lack of changing the game plan, or make bad draft selection year after year or over pay dead beat players???? Dead fish stinks at the top. So quit you whinning and stop buying season tickets each year so we have more ticket to sell to other teams fans so they can teach you whinners how to be a real fan.

It’s funny how when the Rams are playing like a pee-wee team it is always the fans fault. So if he cannot wait for the Bears fans, are we going to be losing 35 to 0 by halftime like the last two games that were on the road?

— Herk15
9:54 pm November 20th, 2008

Nice! Now I’m beginning to see why so many players dislike this clown. Not only does he not think when he plays football, he obviously doesn’t think when he tries to talk! I hope this is an indication that his days here are numbered as the fans know enough to support a team who supports them. If the Rams organization wants to alienate its fan base, then continue to sign and employ folks like Jackson and Incognito as they will make sure of that. Obviously, these folks don’t have a CLUE as to who ultimately pays for their salary! Too bad Olin Kreutz isn’t lining up across from Richie as Olin would school this wannabe bad boy to the point that he would realize how pathetic his act really is! Seriously, to have this underachieving mental midget calling out the Rams fans is beyond laughable. The only thing more laughable is how their offensive line has played over the past couple of years - and that in and of itself is pretty offensive if you are - I mean were - a Rams fan!!

Thanks Richie! This is exactly the nudge I needed. I’m done with the NFL and these pampered athletes. You’d think some of these guys would have a bit of common sense if they spent any time at a University for a year or two. There is no way that schools can be proud of the garbage that they produce and we should all just quit! Let’s quit like the Rams players have quit. I propose a huge walk out of Sunday’s game. I say show up and immediately after the kickoff, everyone just turn around and walk out of the game. Be exactly like this Rams team! Show up for the kickoff and just quit competing as soon a the game begins! How freakin awesome would that be! Guaranteed to make the headlines and get the attention of management!

Don’t know how to cheer? Don’t know when to cheer? I’m at a complete loss for words. I personally had Big Red season tickets for many many years and now we’ve had them for the Rams since day 1. This town is a sports town and we completely understand how to support baseball, football, hockey, and college basketball. You know Richie, we’ve had to watch you almost blow games, lose and lose and lose with no real change in that for what, 3 years now? We still come and watch you and cheer. What’s amazing is that you go off on US, when you’re a 2-6 team. We still come out. We still cheer. Yet, after still supporting a 2-6 team, you still criticize us. Yeah, I’ve stood there and waited with my kids to get autographs after games and you come out and sign. That’s cool. But you better watch you rant about to the media when you’re barely hanging on to ANY fanbase whatsoever.

There is a simple reaction to this moron. Any time the ref announces ‘Holding (or false start or unsportsmanlike conduct or any of the other penalties Richie Rich draws with regularity), Offense, Number 68,’ give him a standing ovation.

Get past the other teams 40 yard line and I might cheer, depending if I’m drunk enough.

I went to the Buffalo game. We cheered for the Rams the first half because they actually looked like a football team in the first half. When they look like one again, the fans might come in. Incognito almost cost them a game with his usual bone-headed play. He’s part of the problem and I doubt seriously if he’ll be part of the solution.

Richie:

I won’t tell you how to spend your money…don’t tell me what to with mine.

We don’t cheer because there is nothing to cheer about. Maybe Rams fans should cheer when you get one of your boneheaded 15 yard unsportsmanship penalties. We would be cheering fairly often.

Maybe Bears and Giants fans are willing to purchase tickets against the Rams in St. Louis because their fans know its an easy “W”

I’m sure the owners appreciate the further allienation of the fan base. You know, what irritates me about those comments is it’s not like I’m just jumping on or off the bandwagon when they win or lose. I’ve had to cut back on a lot of things this year just to pay the bills. We used to go to 5-6 Cards games a year (or more) and for the first time in a long time I only saw them on TV this summer. Well, Rams games are even more expensive than nosebleed seats at a Card’s game and even in a good year I usually only went to one game. But even if you can score free tickets you can’t sit there for that long without snacks, drinks, etc. I don’t think I’ve ever left a game without spending $100 on concessions, parking, etc. And forget taking kids- they’ll want a shirt, hat or toy. Right now the cost of a Ram’s game is a lot of grocery money for 2-3 hours of “entertainment” that’s not particularly entertaining.

Keep BLINDLY supporting the Rams and maybe they’ll pay you off with another decade of bad football. The only way you’ll get change is by making your voice heard. I’ve never sold my tickets to another team’s fans. All I do is go to the games every year, spend my money and cheer. This is the payoff I get. A football team that rolls over and plays dead, flat out quits, and some big mouth offensive lineman blaming me, the fan, for the teams bad play. I’m tired of S.J & R.I blaming the fans. As a side note I’ve gotta say that Bill Coats really riled my feathers with the title of his article “Incognito Rips Rams Fans”, “Fans Blasted”…thanks Bill, job well done.

Coming from one of the most irrelevant members of one of the worst offensive lines in the league, his comments carry no weight.

Incognito should worry about his anger management class and make sure he has his homework done. It’s unblievable the loudest mounths are the one that cause the most trouble. Jackson should have come to camp and maybe he would have been in better shape. All these clowns think they run the show but do not realize without the fans they are nothing.

All you corporate stiff shirts of St. Louis Rams ticket season holder that go to the game and just sit in your $100.00 seats please sell your tickets. So the other teams real fans can buy you $100.00 ticket and show you how real fans stand behind there team win or lose. Go buy Cardinal season ticket and be boring over at there stadium! It’s about time someone told you fans that your not real fans just fair weather fans, that easy to stand behind your team when there winning! I could count on my fingers and toes how many real rams fans are standing!

Richie is one of the biggest trolls on the team. I sorry but the guy can’t passblock worth crap, has anger management issues, and will be off this team soon. Big wuss and take Alice Barron with you. Two loser on the OL will be addition by subtraction!

Richie Incognito has to go down as one of the all-time boneheads to play in the NFL. If he could carry out his blocks as well as he runs his mouth, he would be an all-pro.

Hey Richie !
There just angry beacuse they spent a $100.00 a ticket and they still have not learned how to cheer for there hometown team. We love you style of play! We should have 5 more guys like you! Thanks for helping Steven Jackson, Torry Holt and Mark Bulger get to the pro bowl in 2006. We missed you last year! You see I’m a real fan of yours and I know that without you on the line we would be really awlful. Thanks for putting up with a few bonehead people here in St. Louis. There two busy talking baseball at the game to realize that you are a big play maker. I can understand you fustration playing here in St. Louis because I sit in a section at the games 8 times a year and someone is always telling me to sit down they think there are at the opera. Sunday I will cheer you on! Good LucK Sunday!

11:46 pm November 20th, 2008

Rams fans cheer when something happens on the field that generates an emotion. Maybe I am not as old fashioned as some “true” football fans, but I had season tickets for the first 9 years the Rams were here and still watch them on Sunday Ticket from out of town. I like to believe that I am not one of the mindless chimps that is expected to bang my cymbal when douche bags like Incompetent spouts off in the paper. I couldn’t give 2 craps what he thinks about much of anything. We pay money to watch. When he pays money to play, he can explain his rules to me. People saying he is the best player on the offensive line this year is like saying Ted Bundy is my favorite serial killer. Maybe we can cut out the emotion part and put shock buzzers in all the seats so when Inconsistent thinks we should jump up, he can just press a button. Then dickless wonders like Slaten and others posting can tell all their friends in other cities that we are just as well trained by Billion Dollar Team Owners as they are. Or maybe they could just try a little harder.

The way Incognito went about calling out the fans was wrong. He made it seem like the team was actually playing decent football, but at the same time I do think it’s wrong how Rams fans have turned on the team. It seems that whenever a St. Louis team struggles the majority of the fans turn their back on them. We are supposed to be some of the best fans in the world. I will never forget game 4 of the 2004 World Series when you could hear all the Redsox chants in Busch. Do you think our biggest rival the fans of Chicago would have been doing that to the Cubs, Whitesox, or Bears?

Richie sound like the St. Louis dispatch has it out for you. I read your real story in the Chicago Tribune. As I can see they twisted your words. Next time they come to you for a storty send them out to the stands. They can write a whole newpaper on all the whinners here in St. Louis. I will still cheer for you!
There is always another city that would love you on there team! As a matter of fact 31 other teams out there!
Good Luck!

I really like little Richie’s quote,“It’s nice to have the other fans here. At least they cheer. Our fans get in their seats, they don’t know how to cheer, when to cheer. We get the other team’s fans coming in, and they cheer real nice for us. It provides for a good football atmosphere, having the Chicago fans down here.”

Gosh little Richie, did it ever occur to you that the reason why Rams fans don’t cheer is because you’ve given us absolutely nothing to cheer about during the game? Could the performance of the aptly named “offensive” line have anything to do with that?

If I were only successful 20% of the time, as the Rams are this year, I would not be running of with my mouth. I would be spending my energy trying to find a way to win games and get fans back in the seats. Fans all across the NFL support winners. If you win games, they will come.

This moron does one thing well - he’s flat-out running away from the pack in the race to be named 2008’s Dumbest Ram. Yes, this prestigious award, once the exclusive domain of Lawrence Phillips and Leonard Little, seems a lock for Richie now.

— tom

I’m a season ticket holder who has only seen the Rams win at home twice in two seasons. I don’t care about wins as much as I care about competitive games. Every game I go to in the dome I give the Rams the benefit of the doubt and support them until they give me a reason not to. When you let opposing teams go up 14-0 in their first two possessions, get outscored by absurd amounts, and lose the game before halftime I’m not really motivated to cheer on defense as you let them walk the field again. Incognito should focus on working on that pathetic offensive line instead of making more excuses for why they’re presumably losing.

I completely agree with everything negative said about Richie Incognito in these blogs. Are you kidding me? Are the fans supposed to stand up and cheer for the fact that your God awful Rams lose by an average of 32-14 this year? You shouldn’t be ripping your fans, you should personally apologize to each and every one of them for this joke you put on the field, formerly known as the St Louis Rams. Until you can put a quality product on the football field, just shut up and actually try to win another game. What a joke.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm….. you and Steven are both SOFT, go out there and play like your lifes on the line and maybe i’ll appreciate you. You QUIT in san fran b/c your “shoulder” hurt well im quiting on you b/c my brain hurts from watching this teams mind numbingly awful performance. Bulger is scared out of his mind and can’t step into throws, for some reason the coaching staff is snubbing an all-time great reciever, HOLY CRAP LET TORRY HOLT RUN MORE THAN A @!$%$ing SLANT, and Jackson… I guess we gave you all this money to get a thigh bruise, quit being a baby and go play and when you do play run through people your not reggie @!$%!ing bush

Shame-Shame-Shame on Incognito!!!Fans from everywhere are suffering this season. I am from NY and I followed the Rams for over 20 years. This has been a long disappointing season and if the players can’t grin and bear a little criticism then tell them to put some damn points up on the board.
This season is not just about poor leadership or poor performances…so lets get it together and hope that next year is better.
