Season is over for D. Hall, Bennett

Wide receivers Dante Hall and Drew Bennett will be placed on injured reserve, ending their seasons. Hall suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday’s 34-13 loss to Arizona. Bennett has been slow to recover since breaking a bone in his foot in the season-opener.

Hall also was the main return man. Coach Jim Haslett indicated that Derek Stanley would take over those duties.

Linebacker Chris Draft has a fractured right foot, meaning that Quinton Culberson will return to the lineup.

Also, recently signed Kenneth Darby right now is the team’s only healthy running back and could be the starter Sunday when the Rams meet the Jets in New York. The availability of Steven Jackson (thigh), Antonio Pittman (hamstring) and Travis Minor (concussion) is undetermined at this point.

All for now . . .

hall and bennett out for the year? gee…where are the rams gonna pick up that slack? maybe we can find another useless, over-the-hill return man…and maybe, just maybe, we can pay someone $5 or $6M a year to drop passes and get hurt…i don’t know. gonna be tough to replace those guys. this seems to be one of those “hey, i know you’re hurt…just take the rest of the year off…no, really, take the season off…seriously…no, please…we’ll play the young guys, see what they can do…” moves. and it’s the right move!

One other thing….jackson cited needing more rap music during the games…i have noticed more, and it is clearly helping the team….riiiiight….then again, anything that replaces “shout it shout it shout it out loud” and “bang on these drums all day” is an upgrade. i’ve had season tix since the rams moved here and can’t take those anymore. they make my ears bleed and i’m dumber each time i hear them.

The Rams are finally getting out of their own way. Thats a move to let the young guys develop. Now swallow you pride and realize Jacob Bell is a bust too, and Nick Leckey is to small. Insert the rookies Schuenig and Greco at the guard spots with Ingognito at center and lets see what the young guys can do, can’t be any worse and they will get a chance to develop. The Rams should take the Warner approach when it come to Bulger. Give him the rest of the year off to heal up, get his mind right, and learn the system a little better. He still has a lot left in the tank and he can start over fresh next year. It worked for Warner. And this will give the Ram front office time to shore up the offensive line. Protect your investment!! GO RAMS!!!!

It’s about time. We need to turn the page on all the non-productive veterans and youngsters both–Chavous and Glover (sorry), Klopfenstein, Green, Leckey, and (soon) Pace and Holt.

Nose tackle, MLB, Fullback, #2 QB, TE, SS, C, and LT are all positions where we need to reload.

Linehan’s bunker mentality personnel decisions cost us some gifted youngsters–Ryan Fitzpatrick and Hedgcock, and then nearly Fakhir Brown too.

Hall and Bennett are gone; were they even there? We’ve got the rookies at receiver plus Torry and Looker, we never needed these two anyway. Let’s call it cuts with them and move onward. Can we find some offensive lineman plaease? Why didn’t we even consider Alan Faneca in the offseason? Let’s cut Charlie Armey and John Shaw, too.

I ahd my hopes up this week for the first time in a few years. A win and we’re back in it but nope, dashed again. I miss Kurt and Vermiel.

Let’s not kick a guy when he’s down. No matter what level you play at, it is horrible to not be able to play and have a season ending injury. Bennett is probably another victim of the horrible medical staff. Either way, everybody points out the money aspect, but most of it was probably incentive based. I think the offense may still be lacking a good possesion receiver that can hit a slant.

I have no sympathy for Bennett are you kidding me.. He is no victim of of the med staff, he simply sucked.. Sucked when we signed him, sucked when he was active, and sucked after playing his final game in St.Louis… I will even bet he done playing professional period.. What team would sign him now.. Now maybe loserhan can can call him and say hey man, they want you out the building with me.. Maybe Skip should take Al Davis approach and refuse to pay them both… Just on their effort…

How is this team ever going to move on without Hall and Bennett? They might as well just forfeit the rest of the season if they have to move on with out these 2!

What a waste of cap money those two have been. Lets go with the kids and bring in Marty S. and get back to the playoffs. He has record of winning and you know he is going to stike gold and hit the mountain top.

I saw a post about the lack of depth the Rams have this yr due to bad draft decisions in the past 2-3 seasons. I have to agree with that but also point out the bad free agent decisions as well. Namely these two players, Hall and Bennet. These guys might be great guys in the locker room and even on the sidelines, but they aren’t paid to be on the sidelines. They were paid to play and I knew as soon as they signed Bennet to replace Curtis it was going to turn into a nightmare. Why? Curtis opened up the passing game because of his speed. He just spread the defense so well AND some of the best hands for a slot receiver I have ever seen. He made Bulger look so damn good all the time, even with Bulger throwing off his back foot! That threat set up the running game. Bennet? He is not even close to being fast compared to Curtis. But the Rams wanted a white Plaxico Buress. What they got was a white Daisy. The guy is fragile as a flower. Good riddance.
Over the hill Hall? They NEVER should have signed this guy. I admit he WAS a great player but to give up 2 draft pics (young guys to replace the old lions like Hall) baffles me. On top of that they already had a young guy, Stanley, who is more productive on a consistent basis than Hall is! Hall is running around in circles still trying to be the human joystick while Stanley RUNS UP THE GODAMM FIELD! Thats enough for me.
