St. Louis Rams’ Steven Jackson won’t make trip; to see specialist

When the Rams’ flight to San Francisco leaves this afternoon, Steven Jackson won’t be on it. Jackson, who sat out practice again Friday, is scheduled to see a specialist here in an attempt to learn why his strained thigh muscle, suffered Oct. 19 vs. Dallas, isn’t responding to treatment.

Antonio Pittman will start at running back Sunday vs. the 49ers, with Kenneth Darby and Travis Minor also expected to get some work in the backfield.

Tackle John Greco, who suffered a knee injury in practice Thursday, will miss a day or two. His left kneecap popped out of place briefly, but no damage was done.

All for now . . . more after practice.

Another long-term contract bust for the Rams. Mark Bulger and Steven Jackson need to be traded this year to make room for a true fanchise changing QB and RB. Chip and Jim…..Get rid of this waste!

Maybe a little hip-hop music, a standing ovation and another little bump in pay will get him to come out of it.

He has been working on the injury every day at the Rams practice facilty. He even went on the teams day off. If you haven’t had that injury or played a down in the NFL then you shouldnt be a critic. It’s a team game and the other players are professionals and if they give 100% effort for four quarters they will win the game. But if you are losing please dont smile during the game on the sideline like it doesnt matter.

All you Steven Jackson haters are idiots and you need to get a clue.

There is a lot more wrong with this team than just one player, or even two. Even when Jackson played we got beaten badly. Bulger is gun shy, Holt has lost a step, the other receivers are young, the defense isn’t playing up to potential, we never use our TE that we drafted in the 2nd round, etc…. don’t blame it all on Jackson, even if he is a sissy.

Wow, a bunch of Jackson haters on here today…”He’s soft, he’s a wuss”? Gee whiz, some of you people don’t have a clue…And there’s no need in changing your clueless disposition now…

I agree the Jackson haters and overdoing it a bit today. I can’t help but think if Jackson would have been in camp, nagging injuries like this wouldn’t be an issue. I’ve never played, but game shape is different than doing drills on your own. Hopefully Bulger will stay upright and we can some points on the board.

Oh yea, that hold out was really a great thing. If another player holds out, they should not be signed. Haven’t we seen Orlando Pace unable to play a full season after a hold out. And now Jackson. This is ridiculous!

STEVEN JACKSON CONTINUES TO PROVE HIS INABILITY TO STAY HEALTHY…THE HOLD OUT….THE DRAMA, AND THIS GUY CONTINUES TO BE NO HELP TO THE STRUGGLING OFFENSE….MOVE HIM OUT! ALONG WITH BULGER…BENNETT…HALL….BARRON…NUFF SAID

So far, everyone sticking up for Jackson has no argument, but the fact that us people pointing out that he is a joke need to get a clue. Maybe all of you should get a clue…he calls out our fans, acts as if he’s the best around and what has he showed us? NOTHING…unless you count sitting on the bench or running 4 yards per carry. I wish we would’ve never signed these wasteful contracts w/Bulger and Jackson. We’ll be stuck in the gutter for awhile now.

Maybe he simply doesnt want to play for the rams anymore. Lotta teams out there would jump at the chance to sign him, and with an ego that big, he’d dump the rams in microsecond.

maybe he should take pilates or tap dancing or ballerina or something he would excel at

Hey short term memory guys..Chris Miller, Tony Banks, Lawrence Phillips remember 95,96,97? These guys cant wear Bulger, JAckson or Holts Jocks so ease up. Injuries happen. WHo’s the doofus at Right tackle that cant count to HUT 2!! without jumping offside like an ADHD 2nd grader. Great draft choice. Incognito?? Needs needs to aco like and pro and not an adolescent who just lost the car for the weekend. Bulger has no blocking and is getting killed every week. Hey Orlando, if I was 6′7″ and 350 Bulger would never get hit on my side of the ball. EArn your check too!!

I heard that when the season is over Jackson plans to do a stint on the Cardinals to take Mark Mulders spot.

Ronjon, merely noticing that Jackson is soft and a me-first player does not mean that someone “hates” him.

I hope the in-flight move is 300 and Jack Youngblood calls Jackson to remind him how to find his gonads.
