St. Louis Rams won’t discipline Richie Incognito
For those of you who wanted to see petulant guard Richie Incognito sent packing, or at least disciplined in some manner . . . it’s not going to happen. Not yet, anyway.
In order, Incognito over the last few days:
*Criticized the Rams fans.
*Flipped an obscene gesture as he was being filmed at practice by a local TV station.
*Egged on the fans at the Edward Jones Dome after Sunday’s 27-3 loss to the Bears, then denied having done so to reporters a few minutes later.
But coach Jim Haslett said Monday that after talking with Incognito, he plans no action against him. But Haslett stressed that Incognito is on a very short leash.
“I heard about the situation yesterday, and I met with him this morning to discuss it,” Haslett said. “I’ve heard about five or six different versions, so I’m not really sure which scenario is the actual one. That being said, I don’t condone it, I’m not really sure what he gets out of it. If it’s a joke or if it’s not a joke, I think the team takes it very serious, coming off the loss. I think he should understand that.
“The way we played and the way the situation came out, I don’t think we can stand for that anymore, and I think he understands that. I told him it was inappropriate at the time, especially after (a lopsided defeat). If it happens again, then obviously whatever action we can take as a team would hurt both him and this football team. I think he understands that, and I think he understands that it can’t happen again.”

Notes & quotes:
*RB Steven Jackson (thigh) suffered no ill effects after going through a strenuous workout Saturday. He ran again Monday and is expected to return to practice Wednesday.
*C Nick Leckey broke a bone in his foot during the pregame warmups and will be placed on injured reserve Tuesday. He is the ninth Rams player to suffer a season-ending injury.
*T Orlando Pace (knee) also will try to practice Wednesday.
*QB Marc Bulger (concussion) is scheduled for a neuro exam Wednesday.

What if… Richie were to be made a captain?! If we had one player on each side of the ball playing with a “I will not be beaten” attitude we shall be competitive. Yesterday the Rams backed down on the opening kick-off; no one attacked the Bears wedge! Bad sign! Who on the team tackled with their eyes? What happened to the quick openers that eat up a team with too many in the box? Who on the O line reads the check offs? Some times a bump can save a q-back! Have the linemen had a chance to line up at q-b to get a better understanding of their job? Who has more defensive inside run responsibilities? One person on either side of the ball standing up can change the whole team, one person with integrity and toughness! Is anyone on the Rams ready to MAN UP! If not, start the clean up!
I am thankful for Richie I and Haslett….thankful that they have made my decision easy on whether to attend any more home games. I have been a season ticket holder since inception and I view this as a slap in the face to all Rams fans. This is no different than Gary Templeton…and does anyone remember the reaction of Whitey and the Cards brass? Fans booing is better than fan indifference…or organizational insignificance. Chip (if he really cares) needs to step in and bring some credibility back to this organization. This is a joke….why should I waste my time with this when the other side shows no sign of caring? Losing is one thing….but making a mockery of the fans is too far.
Hey Haslett,
The sooner you and that sorry excuse of a professional football player are gone, the better!! Countdown..5 more losses to go until the pink slips fly!!!!
If Incognito is more into playing with eggs then lets give him some this Sunday. I’ll be bringing my eggs for sure.
If he can’t respect the fans, and the jersey; he can wear what he likes, and what he is into eggs.
GO BEARS STL/LA SHEEP STINK!!!!!!!!!!! BRING BACK MARTZ
Before you guys go to the trouble of writing a post to this blog, ask yourself one question, ‘Did you really expect the Rams organization to take any meaningful action?’ If you did, you are only kidding yourself. If the football fans of St. Louis really want to send a message, do not sell or give your tickets to some else, instead do not show up. The cost of a near empty stadium will get their attention. The concession losses, parking losses and salary cost losses for all the dome staff that are standing around with next to nothing to do will hit them in the place they understand most, the pocketbook. Remember, its a bussiness!
That he would not issue any punishment against such a joke of a player shows that Hasslet does not have control over or respect of his players. He needs to be part of a top-to-bottom cleaning of this fetid house.
But, when you think about it maybe this is for the best. I mean, I cannot think of any worse punishment than having to put on a Rams jersey and play for this sorry sad sack sham of a football team.
Make no mistake: Incognito is the #1 idiot on the Rams and represents everything that is wrong with this team. Jim Hasslet is showing himself to be a capable #2.
What a joke. Letting this a-hole get away with that behavior and no form of punishment. Give me break. I know how I will enforce my punishment to the entire larda– team. I will not renew my season ticket package and by the looks of things on the numerous blogs going on, alot of folks will be following. We’ll see how loud money talks to these immature losers, when the stands are full of visiting fans next season. If the team is still in St. Louis.
WE ARE 7 GAMES TO LATE FOR STEVEN JACKSON TO FINALLY SHOW UP AND BENCH BULGER AND START BERLIN!
Maybe with all the publicity that this guy is getting, we can get something for him in a trade at the end of the year.
Because WE and HE know that the Rams cant get anything with his athleticism, lack of leadership, and temper tantrums.
