St. Louis Rams won’t discipline Richie Incognito

For those of you who wanted to see petulant guard Richie Incognito sent packing, or at least disciplined in some manner . . . it’s not going to happen. Not yet, anyway.

In order, Incognito over the last few days:

*Criticized the Rams fans.

*Flipped an obscene gesture as he was being filmed at practice by a local TV station.

*Egged on the fans at the Edward Jones Dome after Sunday’s 27-3 loss to the Bears, then denied having done so to reporters a few minutes later.

But coach Jim Haslett said Monday that after talking with Incognito, he plans no action against him. But Haslett stressed that Incognito is on a very short leash.

“I heard about the situation yesterday, and I met with him this morning to discuss it,” Haslett said. “I’ve heard about five or six different versions, so I’m not really sure which scenario is the actual one. That being said, I don’t condone it, I’m not really sure what he gets out of it. If it’s a joke or if it’s not a joke, I think the team takes it very serious, coming off the loss. I think he should understand that.

“The way we played and the way the situation came out, I don’t think we can stand for that anymore, and I think he understands that. I told him it was inappropriate at the time, especially after (a lopsided defeat). If it happens again, then obviously whatever action we can take as a team would hurt both him and this football team. I think he understands that, and I think he understands that it can’t happen again.”

Notes & quotes:

*RB Steven Jackson (thigh) suffered no ill effects after going through a strenuous workout Saturday. He ran again Monday and is expected to return to practice Wednesday.

*C Nick Leckey broke a bone in his foot during the pregame warmups and will be placed on injured reserve Tuesday. He is the ninth Rams player to suffer a season-ending injury.

*T Orlando Pace (knee) also will try to practice Wednesday.

*QB Marc Bulger (concussion) is scheduled for a neuro exam Wednesday.

*LB Will Witherspoon now has two shoulder injuries. He sustained a slight labrum tear vs. the Bears, but Haslett is optimistic that he won’t miss any playing time. If he can’t go Sunday vs. the Dolphins, rookie David “Mr. Irrelevant” Vobora will get the start.
All for now . . .

The non-action with Incognito says only one thing to me…ownership and management do not take their customers seriously, nor do they respect them. If they did, they would listen and act immediately.

Folks…do not sell your tickets. Just don’t go. Don’t pay for parking. Don’t buy beer, sodas, meals and Rams trinkets. I know it’s tough economic times, but take a stand and bite the bullet this time. Remember their bottom line can bleed, too.

Incognito most certainly is a brainless cement head, who like many athletes, mistakenly assume they have something of importance to say.
And the Rams are surely playing the most dreadful football I have ever witnessed– I mean,it is one thing to lose, but to be out of all games one quarter in is nauseating.

Still, you have to remember there are many teams(of all leagues) who have had years of futility and yet their fans stay with them. See BLUES fans. Attendance is usually pretty darn good even the last 3 years.

St. Louis is one spoiled city. The “greatest show” is no more but the time will come again folks. Are you football fans or are you fans of a winner only?
I hope when the club comes from the ashes we are not watching them back in the LA market.
These Rams ARE our last NFL team, and to wish them away, well, it does not show a very good understanding of the impact the NFL has on a region.

Typical. So very typical.

Yet another example of why this is one of the most embarrassing and terribly run franchises in all of pro sports.

I tore up my remaining season tickets and mailed them back to the Rams. This team deserves to play (if you can call it that) in a empty stadium.

Incognito is a total as*sho*le. If he is not gone soon, no more season tickets for me.

I wish we had enough quality interior lineman so that Richie would be a backup center/guard for the Rams. I think honestly that would be a good situation.

This might sound heartless and I have nothing against the guy honestly ( I wish his family good health) but THANK GOD

This might sound heartless and I have nothing against the guy honestly (I wish his family good health and a Happy Thanksgiving) but THANK GOD Nick Leckey broke a bone in his foot and is done for the year. Now we can get someone else in there, someone who will obviously be better. For 11 games now, we’ve had the worst starting center in all the NFL. My little bro is in 11th grade, and starts at center for his varsity team; HE would be a better center for the Rams than Nick Leckey.

Oh Richie please don’t do that again. There I fixed it. Give me a break! This guy is too big of a knuckle head to understand right from wrong unless you punish him. Haslett heard 5 or 6 different stories and is not sure which is right or what he can do. Well Jim let me help you. Watch the video of your lunk head and you will be able to see for yourself. De-activate him for the next game. The RAMS just had 14 yards rushing and gave up 5 sacks with him I feel confident that there won’t be a drop off in play if he had to sit the next one out. The last thing this team needs is for the inmates to be running the asylum. The cancer known as Incognito has spread long enough.

The Ram’s players seem to forget that they are paid to win games and entertain us. We pay for them. If one of the players don’t like us, they need to go somewhere else. Richie has social problems. He belongs in a closet. Haslett should at least bench him for a while and take the sting out of him. You can catch a lot more bee’s with honey than you can with crap. Richie is using crap and he’s not catching many bee,s(meaning fans)
