No local TV for St. Louis Rams-Seattle Seahawks game Sunday
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
For just the fifth time since the Rams moved to St. Louis in 1995, a home game will not be televised here. Sunday’s contest at the Edward Jones Domes matching 2-11 teams — the Rams and Seahawks — will not sell out by today’s noon deadline — 72 hours before kickoff. Under NFL rules, it will be blacked out.
None of the previous six home games this year failed to sell out.
The Rams’ first 100 home games — regular season and postseason — in St. Louis were sellouts. The first blackout occurred on Dec. 24, 2006, when the Redskins were in town. Three games last season also were blacked out.
All for now . . . more later.

This will be the first of a long string of non sellouts. The economy shows no signs of improving any time soon. As season ticket holder since the beginning I don’t know if I will renew when the time comes. It will really depend on the out look of the economy. The check would not be in the mail if the money was due today, I am just not confident I will have a job in 4 or 5 months time. I am sure I am not the only one in this boat.
Nice job Chip. Do us all a favor and sell the team. You are the worst owner in the league.
sdramfan,
Who is going to fork over five hundred mill in this economy?
I am not surprised - people are fed up paying to watch garbage each Sunday. I know I am not renewing my season tickets for next season, it is way too expensive to pay to watch an inferior product.
Does this mean that we get to see a *good* game instead? I hope so…
Since its near Christmas why dont the Rams reduce the price or give them to charities so the game can be seen by all. Isnt that better than an empty seat and lost tv and concession stand revenues. People need to go to the game no matter what. If you were here during the football Cardinals days you were a fan regardless of their record. Rams will win on Sunday!
You know, if you’re really hard up for cash and really want to see this dreck of a meaningless game, head on over to StubHub. They’ve got dozens of tickets going for less than $15.
sdramfan, give Chip some slack. He already has dealt with alot in less than a year as owner. The Lenihan firing, Jackson’s holdout, the possible selling of the team, shaky front office, and his mother’s death. In this economy who can finance $900 million to buy this team?
Bring back Lawerence Phillips and Tony Banks and the place will sell out. Or give out free beer to car salemen named Tim.
Does this mean we gotta wear black, like at Senior Day/Blackout Day at Mizzou?
