St. Louis Rams QB Marc Bulger was on the other end of this pass
In his eight NFL seasons, quarterback Marc Bulger had caught two “passes” — both on balls that caromed back to him after being deflected by defenders. His third reception was different.
With the Rams in the “Wildcat formation” Sunday vs. the Seahawks, Bulger lined up far to the right side, with Steven Jackson in position to take the direct snap from center. Jackson handed off to wideout Dane Looker, who headed toward the right edge, then stopped and fired toward Bulger, who was planted on the right sideline.
“I take that for granted what those (receivers) do,” said Bulger, who hauled in the pass for an 11-yard gain. “When that ball’s in the air, it seems like it’s in the air for a long time.”
With a laugh, Looker noted that the Seahawks “must really respect his deep speed, because the corner just bailed out of there. They gave him a huge cushion.”
Bulger said Looker “told me he’d put it on my body and let me get out of bounds. That’s all I could ask.”

Coach Jim Haslett said he’s done fretting — at least publicly — over his future with the team.
“You know what, I’m going to be honest with you, I’m going to just try to worry about what happens the next two games and worry about the coaches and the players,” he said Monday at his weekly day-after press gathering. “The speculation and the newspaper articles, all the Internet stuff, I’m going to leave that up to you guys. Really, I’m just really going to try to take care of business and try to give our team the best chance of winning games. That’s all I can do.”

Notes & quotes:
*Haslett said he’d never before heard of an official making a call after watching the play on the Jumbotron, as WR Torry Holt maintained happened Sunday when he was flagged for offensive pass interference. “I heard about it. I don’t know if that’s true or not,” Haslett said. “He was talking to the (official), so I’m sure whatever their conversation was, Torry relayed that to you. They’re not supposed to, I know that.”
*As for the call, Haslett said, “I didn’t see any pushing off. I thought (Holt) made a nice move, came back and made a nice catch on the ball.”
*LB Pisa Tinoisamoa collected a team-high nine tackles Sunday, according to the coaches’ film review. He’s the team leader for the season, with 123.
All for now . . .

Bulger is kind of built like a receiver. Maybe he needs to be like Rick Ankiel and change his position. He couldn’t catch any worse than he can throw.
