Haslett is out with St. Louis Rams
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Jim Haslett has been informed he will not be the Rams’ head coach in 2009.
He received a call Thursday afternoon from owner Chip Rosenbloom and general manager Billy Devaney.
Haslett declined comment.
There were also indications that the Rams might be making additional “cuts” in their coaching field as they zero in on their next head coach.

Thank goodness Devaney came to his senses. There’s hope after all.
I’m sure Burwell is shedding a tear out there somewhere…
Burwell and the rest of the butt-kissing media that slobbered all over him, must be in complete denial.
Great news.
As much as I respect Jim Haslett and what he’s accomplished over the years, eliminating him from the coaching search was a smart move. It’s time to bring in a fresh face with new ideas. If your going to get the fair weather fans of this town excited, someone with the credentials of a Rex Ryan or Leslie Frazier is the only option at this point. I wish the best for Haslett and I’m sure he’ll land on his feet, whether it’s Green Bay or wherever. By the way, here’s a vote for Rex Ryan!
duh!
Good news.
Great news…the drama involving Haslett went on too long. The fact that he was even in consideration was ridiculous. When Haslett threw Martz out there, it was a self serving effort to garner more media support from folks like Burwell and Howard Balzer, who Haslett was kissing up to. This organization badly needs a fresh set of eyes to remake this roster and coach these players up.
I saw Haslett this afternoon eating lunch near the Rams complex with several other coaches. He seemed in good spirits and was there for a long time. Perhaps he got the news afterwards or perhaps he is just at peace with this decision.
Your heard it here first - 10-6 and a playoff birth next year.
