Faucette stays as St. Louis Rams asst. strength coach
Chuck Faucette became the third _ and almost certainly the last _ holdover member of the Rams’ 2008 coaching staff to be retained by new head coach Steve Spagnuolo.
The club announced Thursday that Faucette will return for another season as the team’s assistant strength and conditioning coach. Faucette, 45, joined the Rams in 2008 for his debut season as an NFL assistant. The former linebacker with the San Diego Chargers coached previously at Texas and Southern Methodist at the college level, and for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League.
Faucette’s hiring leaves Spagnuolo with what looks like only two hires at most to complete his staff _ one on offense and one on defense. Depending on what Frank Leonard’s final designation is on offense, the team needs either a tight ends coach or a quality control assistant. On defense, there has been no secondary coach hired, although there have been some indications that Andre Curtis will be safeties coach. If that’s the case, a cornerbacks coach still must be hired.

Safeties/Cornerbacks coach.? Should contact and see if Aeneas Williams is interesting in this position…This guy will bring so much respected to young players and the coaching staffs and I am pretty sure that he is a great teacher…Last time I heard,he owns a few car dealerships down on N.O …Anyone got a direct line to Spags or Devaney ?
Spags had better start evaluating players. That way, he will know what players to keep & who he should draft. The NFL draft is not far off. I would like to see former TE Ernie Conwell come here as the TE coach. Aeneas would be a good choice.
Thats a good call on both Aenas and Ernie, and dont Worry about Spags and his time. The only person who is drafing and cutting players is Devaney
Devaney will not be doing the draft either. There is a personnel/talent guy who we hired from the whiners (don’t remember his name).
