No MRI for Missouri wide receiver Maclin after all
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Turns out that University of Missouri wide receiver Jeremy Maclin won’t need an MRI on his left knee after all. There was some concern that Maclin had hypextended his left knee after getting shaken up during pass-catching drills Sunday at the NFL Scouting Combine.
But sources close to Maclin say his knee came out of the combine just fine. In fact the only thing that was sore after the fall was his right hip, and that was nothing to be concerned about. So Maclin will continue working out in preparation for running at Mizzou’s pro day in Columbia. Missouri actually is planning two pro days, and Maclin has yet to decide whether he will run at the March 5 pro day or the March 19 event.

What did the Rams have during their Super Bowl year? They had a kick returner that could give them great field position to start their drives. And imagine another speedy receiver that could break away to paydirt. Plus, it would be a hometown player inspiring people to return to the dome. Rams and Jeremy Maclin sounds great to me.
ramsfan are you suggesting taking maclin with the 2nd pick? I love the guy but you are a buffoon…
Boy, can you feel the love.. Mizzoujosh, the fan was just voicing his opinion…. Although I think he would be a great take, just not with the 2nd pick. We have to many problems and receiver is not one of them. Whether we kee TH or not, we have some great youngsters that I think will be great… We have a quarterback, although over paid, he is a former pro bowler… Me, I think we should go tackle, but I am liking Curry more and more…..
Go RAMS!!
I agree with mizzoujosh, Ramsfan is a buffoon.
The road to the Super Bowl starts with the line, 0 and D. Running back and Kick returner are the last pieces of the puzzle you put in place. Why? Because their careers are so short anyways.
Ramsfan isn’t a buffoon. He’s just expressing his opinion, and it’s different from the prevailing opinion of the today. Last week ,it wasn’t so different from the prevailing opinion when Michael Crabtree the WR from Texas Tech was the favorite draft candidate of Rams bloggers. But then Crabtree didn’t do anything at the Combine and was found to have a stress fracture in his foot. So Crabtree ceased to be the favorite, and Aaron Curry a LB became the favorite. But while Crabtree was the hot choice, an argument could be made for Maclin due to his return capabilities. I favored him over Crabtree for that reason. A PD poll showed an approximate 55/45 preference of Crabtree to Maclin. So even though Crabtree was favored, there was a sizable minority that favored Maclin. The group was large enough that it is hardly appropriate to refer to those in that group as “buffoons.”
I tend to think that the Rams need many players, and the idea of getting two for the price of one sound pretty good. Maclin would be a two for one, a receiver and a return man. I know that you don’t think that Maclin is worth a No. 2 pick, but where else you gonna find a two for one.
I agree with you Old Lowell, Maclin is not just a 2 for 1 pick he is a multi dimension pick. He plays wide-out, kick off returner, punt returner and could be the wild cat-back in that offensive scheme. Also many of you want to get rid of Pace and Holt, these are established veterans who have encountered and earned the merits(injuries) of war in the NFL. The disarray of the Rams these past few years can be atrribute to the ineffective coaching and management of the organization. It takes at least 2-3 years to develope Pro Bowl talent at positions in the NFL. The out cry of comments that i have read about the Rams on this blog is that the Rams must win now. Don’t let articles by arm chair writers who haven’t played one down on the field or even been in the trenches create a outcry to dispose players who have given their life to their profession. These men have earned every penny that they signed a contract presented to them by the Rams organization. The St.Louis Rams need to step up to the plate and honor their agreement, don’t you all think so my fellow Ram fans.
