St. Louis Rams make tender offers to Adeyanju, Incognito
In a necessary “housekeeping” chore before the start of the free agency period Friday, the Rams have made one-year tender offers to restricted free agents Victor Adeyanju and Richie Incognito.
But a third restricted free agent, offensive guard Mark Setterstrom, did not receive a tender offer from the club. Adeyanju and Incognito have been tendered at the minimum level, which is $1.01 million this year.
At the minimum level, the Rams would get draft pick compensation for each player equal to his original draft position. Incognito was selected in the third round; Adeyanju went in the fourth round.
Making the tender offer gives the Rams matching rights if either Adeyanju or Incognito gets a contract offer from another team once the free agency period starts Friday.
The Rams still hope to re-sign Setterstrom, who has missed most of the past two seasons with knee injuries. But without the tender, Setterstrom in essence becomes an unrestricted free agent Friday. He can sign with any team, no strings attached.
Seems like the rams could be running a risk dangling adeyanju out there for only a 4th round pick. He looks pretty darn good albeit he isnt a star.
I could not agree more ronjon, I would give up a fourth for him if I was a GM for another team, you already know what your going to get.
Agree that I don’t want to lose Victor, but they do have the right to match any offer. If the offer is more than they can spend, they’ll take the extra pick.
Incognito?!? I thought this goofball was gone for good. Hopefully we can get a 3rd rounder AND get rid of him.
Please someone make an offer on Incognito…. I believe he is one of the knuckleheads that should be shown the door with Bennett….
I’ll third that motion, Adeyanju looked alot better than most of the defense and played frequently with taped up fingers, etc. Would have rather seen some others named. Maybe its beyond what we can see.
Come on, someone make an offer for Richie. We could use a third round pick.
When is this club going to smarter up and realize that Incognito is a cancerous moron. How many chances does he get to prove that he’s one of the most overrated players in the NFL?
ehh @ incognito. he’s not a terrible lineman, but he makes too many idiotic penalties. one in particular that almost jeopardized 50% of our wins last season (laughs.) maybe spagnuolo and co. can whip that imbecile’s attitude into shape and make him a decent player, maybe not.
I hope we keep Victor and he plays his tail off for the club. He has moved positions, gained weight, whatever they wanted him to do. Quality guy, hard worker….need more guys like this. Get your payday next year Vic, play hard this year!
