Ex-St. Louis Rams coach Haslett gets UFL job
Jim Haslett won’t be applying for unemployment benefits any time soon. Haslett, interim head coach of the Rams most of this past season and the team’s defensive coordinator for two years before that, reportedly will coach the Orlando entry in the new United Football League. Competition is to begin in the fall, with four teams playing a six-game schedule. The other franchises will be in Las Vegas, New York/Hartford and San Francisco. Haslett apparently will be paid $500,000, according to reports.
Haslett took over the Rams when Scott Linehan was fired after the team opened 0-4. Haslett’s Rams won their first two games, then finished the season on a 10-game losing streak. Haslett’s name was mentioned for a couple of assistant-coaching positions in the NFL, but he didn’t land a job.
The UFL is not affiliated with the NFL.

Wide receiver Torry Holt and tackle Orlando Pace are, indeed, welcome at Rams Park when the offseason conditioning program begins Monday, according to a high-ranking team official. He said a report elsewhere that Holt and Pace were not invited was untrue.

Free-agent fullback Mike Karney is not due into town until tonight.
All for now . . .

Where is JT?
Poor Haslett! He better cash the check before that league folds after week 1.
I feel sorry for Haslett….he is a much better coach than Linehan
Does he bring “He Hate Me” on board as tailback?
Geez, what is the league’s motto going to be, “We’re Bringing the Boring Back!!!”?
