DANA POINT, CALIF. _ Following his March 13 release from the St. Louis Rams, wide receiver Torry Holt took some time to regroup and recharge. He left the country on vacation, but returned earlier this week, and now he’s going about the business of finding a new job.

To wit, league sources told the Post-Dispatch on Wednesday evening that Holt will be paying a free-agent visit to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday. Jacksonville is in dire need of receiving help.

The team cut Jerry Porter and had no plans to re-sign free agent Reggie Williams. On March 16, the Jaguars released wide receiver Matt Jones following his arrest earlier this month on a probation violation stemming from drug charges last summer. Jones led Jacksonville with 65 catches for 761 yards last season.

That tall, slow grass in Jacksonville should help Torry’s quickly degenerating knees.

Oh I wouldn’t be surprised if the niners jump in for Torry at the last minute…they love all of our castoffs.

Holt will not leave Jacksonville today without a contract. Yes I am a Jaguar fan and we need WR help bad! Yes he’s getting up there in age but I think he has 2-3 years left in him.

Thank you St. Louis for releasing him.

Go Jags!

TORRY AND ORLANDO REFUSED TO RESTRUCTURE THEIR CONTRACTS,THATS WHY THEIR NOT HERE,THEY HAD A CHOICE,THEY WERE OFERED JOBS HERE,AND THEY WANTED TO BANKRUPT THE TEAM WITH THEIR HUGH CONTRACTS,GOOD RIDDANCE

I thought Torry wanted to end his career with a contender?? The Jags have as much chance of winning their DIVISION as I have playing quarterback for the Patriots.

Maybe he was tired of wathching woosie Bulger do his duck-and-drop-like-a-rock maneuvers.

Torry jumped ship. Not classy.

I think its crazy that people criticize Holt for not restructuring his contract. People seem to forget that it was an agreement between both him and the Rams. He has lived up to his end of the bargain, averaging more yards per game than any other receiver in league history. He had one off season, and everyone was quick to let him go. Truly despicable how some ‘fans’ completely cast off players that have given so much to the team and the community as Holt has.
