The Rams added much-needed depth to their offensive line Friday, re-signing Adam Goldberg to a two-year deal. Contract terms weren’t immediately available. Goldberg has been a valuable backup/spot starter for St. Louis since being acquired in a trade with Minnesota just before the start of the 2006 season. Last season, he started at least one game at both guard and both tackle positions on the offensive line. Goldberg reportedly paid a free-agent visit to Cleveland before deciding to re-sign with St. Louis.

Very nice. Goldberg is a valuable backup/depth player…and a quality one at that, made even more so because of his versatility. Again, I think this speaks volume for how our ‘new’ Rams are retaining, as well as aquiring, the solid pieces you need for the success in this league. Once again, bravo Spags and Billy D!

Great! Now lets get Curry’s locker ready, or will it be Crabtree? My draft order preference by position: LB, OT, DT, WR, QB, SS/CB, OL, LB/DL.
K.Darby is more than capable of backing up Jackson, I think he is a good player.

Goldberg? Wouldn’t the WWE take him back?

so… how does re-signing an existing player “add” depth? Wouldn’t that be “retaining” depth?

Just as long as the Rams don’t take a offensive lineman or a quarterback with their first pick. I would now be fine with just about any player from any other position (Curry, Crabtree, Orapko, Raji, etc….) These “small” signings along the line (I think the Rams also signed a right tackle, Daren Heerspink, that was on the Dolphins last year)

Sorry, that last post should have ended “These ’small’ signings along the line (I think the Rams also signed a right tackle, Daren Heerspink, that was on the Dolphins last year) are looking good…at least the current regime is grabbing up some nice depth.”
