Continuing to build their offseason roster, the Rams have re-signed offensive lineman Mark Setterstrom and defensive end Eric Moore, as well as four street free agents.

Setterstrom, who has missed most of the the past two seasons with knee injuries, has started 9 games since being taken in the seventh round of the 2006 draft. A healthy Setterstrom could compete for a starting job at guard, or at worst provide depth on the interior. He suffered a preseason knee injury last August which ended his season, but participated Monday in the start of the Rams’ offseason conditioning program.

Moore, has spent the past 2 1/2 seasons with the Rams, spending part of that time on the practice squad. He appeared in seven games for the Rams last season in a reserve and special teams role, recording five tackles from scrimmage with one sack and 3 quarterback hurries.

Also signed were quarterback Jeff Otis, defensive back Marcus Brown, tight end Eric Butler, and center Tim Mattran. Otis is a St. Louis native who played his high school ball at CBC and played collegiately at Columbia in the Ivy League. In the NFL, he has had practice squad stints with Kansas City and Oakland.

Brown (Arizona), Butler (New York Giants, Indianapolis), and Mattran (Minnesota, Jacksonville), also had practice squad experience in the NFL last season.

All six contracts were one-year deals.

i like the setterstom move if he is healthy it adds depth a guard. i remember hearing moore’s name here and there the last couple of years so that can add competion to the the end of the d-line rotation. but what about depth at rb with deshaun foster or trade for Justin Fargas. The Rams need to add weaponry to the offensive arsenal. They basically have a No. 3, No. 4, and No.5 WR with no real threats available in free agency and even if they do draft a WR odds are they will be able to contribute little in their rookie year.

Flash - if Avery ends up getting doubled, who do we have? Same scnario as Holt from last year. Big improvement huh?

Nice work Flash! Seriously:)

Here’s why I wish they would have kept Holt; then you have 3 quality WRs that can shift and rotate and stay fresh. It would have been like having 3 receivers rotate in and out of the #1 and #2 WR spots. Plus Dane Looker is dependable for what he is. It won’t happen, but I pray that the Rams resign Holt and Pace.

with a devastating running game, and quick passes out of the west coast offense, the ability to double will diminish. avery catching the ball on the run in a slant will rack up some RAC. he’ll flourish in this offense.

We need to draft Kenny Britt in the 2nd round! He is a huge target and is exactly the kind of size we need over the middle.

We are going to be a run oriented offense. Why would you pay Holt 8+ million when your offense is going a different direction and you have a lot of holes to fill. we needed the cap room.

Holt was great for us in the past, but it is no longer the past. The Rams and Torry need fresh starts apart. I think Holt was pretty clear that he did not want to be here and I guess he didn’t want to be a Titan either, since he wouldn’t restructure his contract for a trade from the Rams.

Holt on this years team wouldn’t be happy and it is best he won’t be with the Rams this year. Its amazing how you guys talk like the Rams have finalized their roster and the recieving core we have now is it. Do you really think the new regime isn’t going to address it?

Peace out and look forward to the rest of free agency and the draft
