It’s two down and five to go for Kevin Demoff, the St. Louis Rams’ new executive vice president for football operations. Tying up draft picks, that is.

On Saturday, the Rams agreed to terms on a four-year contract with fifth-rounder Brooks Foster, a wide receiver from North Carolina. Foster’s agent, Joby Branion, said Foster probably would sign the deal on Monday. Financial details were not immediately available.

On Friday, Iowa cornerback Bradley Fletcher became the first of the club’s seven picks to sign.

With training camp set to begin July 31, Demoff still is negotiating with the representatives for first-rounder Jason Smith, a tackle from Baylor; second-round choice James Laurinaitis, a linebacker from Ohio State; fourth-rounder Darell Scott, a defensive tackle from Clemson; and sixth-round selection Keith Null, a quarterback from West Texas A&M; and seventh-rounder Chris Ogbonnaya, a running back from Texas.

Ogbonnaya’s agent, Peter Schaffer, said Saturday that he was close to completing a deal with the Rams. “But we haven’t agreed to terms, and we certainly haven’t signed a contract,” Schaffer said.
