Rams sign Ogbonnaya, agree on deals with Scott, Null
The start of training camp is three days away and the St. Louis Rams are down to four unsigned draft picks. And that number soon will drop to two.
On Monday, running back Chris Ogbonnaya, a seventh-round selection from the University of Texas, signed a four-year deal with the club. Financial terms will not immediately available.
Also, league sources indicated that the Rams have reached contract agreements with defensive tackle Darell Scott, their fourth-round choice, and quarterback Keith Null, their sixth-rounder.
That would leave just first-round pick Jason Smith, a tackle from Baylor, and second-rounder James Laurinaitis, a linebacker from Ohio State, without deals.
“We’re making good progress” with the representatives for Smith and Laurinaitis, said Kevin Demoff, the Rams’ executive vice president of football operations. “We met again yesterday for a good amount of time. I think we’re getting closer. I still remain very optimistic” that both players will be signed and in camp on time.

Isn’t Scott our 4th round pick and Null our 6th round pick? Eh…whatever. As long as they are signed it doesn’t matter anymore. Let’s just hope these other two get signed before the start of camp.
They will all be signed by …2nd day of camp. Spags and company are working hard to improve this team. True Ram fans should at least give them a chance.
Trout, he said Scott fourth & Null sixth, or am I reading you wrong. Stop confusing me, it’s Monday!
There should be no problem signing these two if this new Administration has any concern to ‘Improve” this season. But if they fiddle around Rome’s Burning will seem to be a mere spark in the woods. They need to be in Training Camp!
Pretty sweet deal for Null considering he should have been a street free agent.
There were a number of guys I’d rather have seen taken with our 6th round pick like: Curtis Painter (if we had to have a QB), AQ Shipley, Mike Mickens, Zack Follett, Tiquan Underwood, Rashad Jennings (although I like Ogbonnaya), Freddie Brown, etc.
Oh well.
Ramsong, I find it funny that in St. Louis fans would still be so ridiculous when it comes to QBs. Just because you haven’t heard of the guy doesn’t mean he was the wrong pick. Had you heard of Warner or Bulger? Both those guys have done alright for themselves. How many times did you actually watch Null play? None I bet, and probably not much more for a few of those guys you mentioned. Curtis Painter though, I’ve seen a fair amount and he is not good.
Is that Trout or Bass ? Common man, read carefully ! Scott is a 4th rounder and Null is a 6th, step away from the glass deek !
I read this before they edited their mistake. It did have it as Scott the 6th and Null the 7th when the article first came out…
